Essential Of Employability Report_2
Introduction
The following report will provide a SWOT analysis about me as an employable
person, my strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve the right skills and
knowledge for my future career. An ESE test, also known as Employability Self
Evaluation survey, was conducted to highlight these aspects from where I have
chosen 5 points to consider for creating a future plan, including SMART goals,
which will help me turn the weaknesses into strengths. This report also consists
of a developmental plan included in the appendix which will help me keep my
objectives and planning in the forefront of my mind.

Analysis of the test results, goals and planning
Analysing the test results, the following five areas are my key weakness areas,
Digital literacy, General networks, industry experience, interpersonal skills for
communication and Industry knowledge. In order to develop these skills further
and make myself more employable, I would create smart goals for each of them
and create timelines so that I can track my progress.
Digital Literacy
Smart target: Improve my digital literacy by developing LinkedIn, Facebook and
twitter account so that it reflects my skills and abilities, contains a smart
professional look and includes all my experiences in a chronological manner
within the next 15 days so that my profile visibility and accuracy increases by
5%.
According to Vrana (), as the society is being transformed from analogue to
digital, developing digital literacy for the people seeking jobs is becoming much
more important. The labour markets around the world is also becoming more
digitally responsive and for the same reason universities are creating more
curriculums that develop student’s digital literacy. Digital literacy includes skills
related to ICT and an ability to create digital platforms for employability. One
such effective platform is LinkedIn. It is professional platform and creating an
effective platform which includes the necessary skills and abilities that informs
the recruiters about the suitability of the candidate.
The LinkedIn profile that I have is quite developed but I think it need more polish.
The information that I have included there are mostly mu academic knowledge
and degrees. I also need to include my key skills, experiences and the attributes
that I have. For example, I have high efficacy, resilience and self-awareness.
These skills are necessary in employment. I need to include these aspects into
my professional profile. I also need to develop my Facebook and Twitter account
according to a professional standard (Lyons
et al. 2019). Social media is one of
the most preferred method of the employers to find out about basic information
about desired candidates. Keeping the Facebook profile professional means that
the employers will be able to find my details easily.
The development of Digital literacy for better employability has many challenges
as well. Due to the ever shifting nature of the online population, the platforms
change continuously. Earlier, Facebook was not considered a professional
platform while presently it is considered first contact point in many cases.
Moreover, developing practical experience of using all the ICT skills necessary for
employability are problematic as the software and applications that are needed
does not remain available all the time (Pappas
et al. ).
General Networks
Smart Target: Develop effective professional network through social media and
other professional groups so that I develop a good professional circle within the
next two months which can be done by joining social media pages and groups
consisting of people that are looking for jobs in similar profile so that I get 10%
more invite for interviews by the end of the month.
According to Steenbergen (2018), the pattern of employability has changed over
time. Earlier people had long-term employment with single employer. Now, the
