Ethical consumerism refers to form of the political activism which is on the basis of
the premise that the buyers in the markets consume the goods along with the process which
have been made use of for their production. It is indicative of a political act which sanctions
values which have been embodied in the manufacturing of a product (Uusitalo and Oksanen,
2004, p. 215). It involves the buying of the products which have been made in the ethical
manner without causing harm to humans and the animals. It can help in building a healthy
community and address structural obstacles that are present in the society. Ethical
consumerism can compel the companies to take recourse to ecological packaging which can
be helpful in minimising waste on the planet. This essay states that ethical consumerism can
pave the path for a sustainable future which can benefit the planet.

The consumers in the present age are showing interest regarding the sourcing of the
goods that they are buying which will leave an overall good impact on the society. It have
helped in the area of responsible decision-making which have ensured the production of the
ethical products within the framework of the global market. The consumers play a crucial
role in the present age in providing encouragement to business so that they advance the
ethical practice. The consumers in the present era are more conscious and they demand the
transparency in relation to the business practices (Gillani and Kutaula, 2018, p. 64). In the
event of the consumers caring about issues of company the corporations become more careful
and they want to satisfy the needs of customers. It can create the way for the companies in
taking recourse to corporate social responsibility acts which can help in the promotion of the
customer loyalty. The companies will align values with actions that can help them in building
the trust with the conscious customers. It can help them in building the deeper relationship
