What's going on?It was observed in the video that the head of the company wants to launch thesystems without running any tests on the system and the project director is facing ethicaldilemma due to the decision taken. Launching system without running any tests would leftcertain bugs and glitches those are necessary to be eliminated before launching the systemin the market. The organization buying the systems would might face security issues andbreaches in the future due to these security issues and could affect the whole organization.The supplier company wants to keep their promise to deliver the systems on time, thesystems are not ready to be launched, and thus, there are many ethical dilemma for theproject manager here. Q2. What are the facts?There are many facts related to this execution of this phase of the project, as thereare many cases those are related with this project. The first fact is that launching thesystem will bring the reputation of the company at stake if any data breach affects theorganization utilizing services in the future. Another fact is that if a small widow left opened,it will allow the intruder to access the data or information saved in the system. The projectmanager has many options to take and he will be responsible of the action he takes. All theactions will have different consequences on the course of action he takes in this situation. Q3. What are the issues?This launch could lead to many issues for both the supplier and the consumer of thesystems as if the system launch fails in security it will affect the entire data or informationsaved in the system. On the other hand, the supplier organization would lost his reputationin the market. If the supplier organization delays in delivery, it will again lose its reputationbut this will be saving the organization from being collapsed completely. Intruders can enterthe network and access the data or information saved in the system and thus the consumercompany will be collapsed completely. Software or operating systems might be outdatedand not compatible of accessing the recent updates and thus, the efficiency will bedecreased for the consumer company. Q4. Who is affected?Your Name

Ethical Dilemma in IT/Launching Un-tested SystemThe project manager whose decision will be deciding the consequences in future isfacing ethical dilemma in this scenario. The supplier company will be losing its responsibilityin any way however, reputation can be build but if the organization collapsed, there isnothing left for the company in future. The consumer company will be receiving eithertested or un-tested systems that will decide how much security risk is there for theorganization. The customers of the company using untested system will be facing securityand privacy risk to the data or information shared to them. The company might also feeldeficiency in accomplishing the operational activities if, there is certain hardware orsoftware glitch within the system. The stakeholders of both the company will be affected ineither way. Q5. What are the ethical issues and their implications?The manager is stuck in the situation where he needs to take decision on the launching of the untested systems that has many consequences and course of action. There were many choices left in front of the manager and it was necessary to take a right decision that will be beneficial in all the sectors. The manager will have to make the choice considering its consequence on him, the company he is working, and the company where heis about to supply the systems. He will be only person responsible for the consequences on the choices he made within these involved individuals. Q6. What could have been done about it?Martha’ should have present there at the first place and should have tested all the systems and could eliminate the systems those have certain glitches and bugs. Another option was that he manager should have look into the matter seriously and should have appointed another representative for testing the system. This point of considerations would have stopped the situation from raising at the first place. Another point of consideration is that the head should have concern about the consequences of releasing the untested system into the market and should have talked the client for some time by himself without forcing the manager to launch the systems on time.
