INTRODUCTION
Increasing use of plastics creates complexity for everyone as it adversely impacts on the
sustainable growth of economy. In addition to, there are many things that generates waste in the
economy which have no use and it increase the plastic waste (Saxby). For that purpose, every
nation which are the part of Commonwealth thought that they have to do something for protect
their nature. 52 members are listed in Commonwealth countries which includes developing as
well as developed nations. Every nation has a main role that they should perform something
great which creates democracy, peace, sustainability, etc. The main agenda or motive of
Commonwealth nations are to promote success and growth with sustainability at the cost of
peace. But it is identified that day to day developments are increasing which creates problems for
economy by the addition of waste. These wastes are not disposed of, this is the main reason for
promoting circular economy. This report covers the motive and importance of circular economy
with the actions that taken by developing as well as developed nations.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
Define and discuss the Circular Economy (CE).
Circular economy is the effective economy system that promotes use of renewable
resources with the reduction of waste products. It is the approach which focuses on economic
development with sustainability. A country should be performed activities in order to success
with sustainability growth (caldera, Ryley and Zatyko, 2020). Circular economy is destined at
the purpose of minimising waste with the re usage of materials. For that purpose, every nation
need to apply in their economy i.e. take make model. This model helps nations that they can
achieve their goals which is growth at sustainability. To understand the circular economy, it is
necessary that everyone should know the concept of economy. Economy is the area in which it
includes production, trade and distribution with consumption of products and services that served
by different organisation. Circular economy is concerned with the regeneration and restoration
by design. It is concerned with each and every organisation whether it is small or large, they
should perform their activities in order to build and rebuild all over the system in an effective
manner. It is very important for every economy that they should focus on promoting and using
circular economy.

Approach of emerging circular economy
The circular economy is emerged after the approach of linear economy. Linear economy
is earlier used in the nations but it is identified by the Commonwealth that it is not effective for
organisation as well as for an individual. Linear economy is concerned with the economy that
use society resource and provide products and services but the waste is the end of this process
that means waste are collecting day by day (Islam, Perry and Gill, 2020). There is no use of that
waste which creates pollution for the economy. Pollution is not good for anyone as it exploits
nature environment. It creates health problems for human beings as well as wild life habitats.
Linear economy reduces the life of the wild life habitats by increasing in waste of plastics in the
environment. Commonwealth identified that with the use of linear economy no one sustainably
grow their business so that's why they need to modified the economy or do some changes in the
economy.
Difference between circular and linear economy
It can be more clarified the difference between circular economy and linear economy
with the help if below diagram. The linear economy is concerned with a process in which an
organisation produces goods and services in order to satisfying the needs of consumers by the
end of their process is collection of waste (Galaiduk and et. al., 2020). That means they are not
using any waste which emerged in the production process. But in the case of Circular economy,
they are concerned with the use of their end process by using wastage with the help of restoration
and regeneration. The name suggest that how economy can run by the nations. This economy is
well promoted by the commonwealth countries which has in 52 total members. It includes
developing as well as developed nations that means both types of nations perform their duties in
order to promote circular economy.
