INTRODUCTIONHealth and Social care (HSC) in UK provides services that are available from providerswho are engaged in social and health care activities (Antheunis, Tates and Nieboer, 2013). Thissector offers a range of support to individual clients and their family with a continuousresponsibility of working professionally and interactively with the client to ensure care and needsare met. It has a wide spread in diverse environments like hospitals, homes of clients, nursingcare homes and community day care. This report discusses the environment in which NationalHealth Services (NHS) are operating and rapidly changing according to the technologicaladvancement, legislation alterations, political, economical and social changes . It also examinesthe factors of changes in health and social care services along with the practice of facilitatingchange evaluation.TASK 11.1. Factors that drive changes in health and social care services of NHSThere are many factors like cultural and demographic which may change services ofNHS. These modifications can be negative or positive and will give an idea by changingprofession's image with substituting one thing from another. Identification of both internal andexternal causes which changes the NHS's must be determined. External factors involveshappenings, threat and opportunities which takes place outside the organization or externalenvironment. Internal factors are those which traces managerial choices, perceptions and actions.Internal changes may be initiated due to the force and pressure of external causes that affectsNHS thereby making them plan new strategies (Brett and et.al., 2014). To identify the externaland internal factors of changes NHS needs to continuously monitor their environment by usingSWOT analysis. This technique will help them identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunitiesand threats which affect the organization. Some of the main factors that drives change in healthand social care services of NHS are:New legislation- New legal requirements emerges constantly due to the governmentattempt to improve health and social care through introducing new standards or controls formodification. These legislation and policies are subject to health and care aspects which alsoincludes change in legislations set by the government and authorities. 1

Economic changes- Due to the change in economy which took place with NHS and socialcare services it can be seen that the primary care trusts receives 75% of their budget provideseffective health and social care. Change in leadership- This is another factor which can have an adverse effect onorganization's change. Organisational management decides best method of administration forNHS (Brown and Harris, 2012). Changing strategies of establishment can gain a change inhealth and social care services. New leaders can achieve targets through leading staff at the sametime identify NHS background and facilitating changes in a different way. 1.2. Challenges that key factors of change brings to health and social care services of NHSThere is a huge number of challenges faced by NHS with the key factors of change inhealth and social care services.Lack of financial resources is an a factor that affects the NHS when developing quality systemswithin the organization. Due to this inadequacy the customers have to wait for longer periods toreceive a service. This also made the organization fail in developing service usage for clients.Policies and regulations limits the functionality of NHS. Due to continuous and constant changesin legislation and statutory requirements adversely affects the firm to change their obligationsand procedures which in turn alters the operations or service providing of NHS. Humanresources is the most important asset of an organization which a manager could have within hisfirm due to flexibility (Chreim and et.al., 2010). It can be shaped in to many situations and theflexibility makes strategy implementations easier. Insufficiency in workforce will impact NHSperformance and it is a barrier which health and social care service faces. Changes in leadershipor changing organization's strategies impacts the employees of the NHS. It is not important thatall staff might accept the new strategies because policies may not satisfy them. The case studymentions that health and social care services are struggling harder to keep demand stable therebyprotecting the need for social care systems.TASK 22.1. Strategies for measuring recent changes in Health and social care.Regular inspection and data collection by the management should be introduced tomeasure the actual performance of the sector and to gain market knowledge. The data must becollected during the whole measuring process. This measurement includes employee'sengagement with NHS and strategies needs to be implemented. This involves money and time2
