The aim of this paper is to discuss the factors of profession map and how these are
effective for the human resource managers to tackle various aspects of employee management.
The human resource specialists play an important role in a company as they are responsible to
deal with the most valuable asset of the companies. The HR professionals tackle the process of
interviewing, recruiting, screening and placing workers in their positions. The HR managers are
also responsible to handle the relationship of the employees, their payrolls, training and other
benefits. They oversee the duties of the employees by handling their strategic planning and serve
as the bridge between the employees and the company. The CIPD HR profession map gives a
widespread view on how the HR manage of the companies need to operate at every level based
on the qualification of individual employees and their experience forms
(Peopleprofession.cipd.org. 2020).
The profession map of 2019 has been designed to support the human resource managers
at every stage of their career progression by recognising the fact the roles of the HR and career
progression may vary. The profession map has three main elements that include professional
area, behaviour and brands, transitions. Professional areas details what the human resource
managers need to know and do, behaviours include how they must carry out their activities and
bands and transitions include how the human resource managers need to develop one role to the
other. The bands are distributed into four groups of capability starting from the beginners to
leadership. The brands are split into four categories depending upon their competence that
exemplify the hierarchy of profession. The professional map of HR is developed on the two man
professional areas like strategy as well as solutions. This develops an actionable insight and
solution by prioritising and tailoring around the deep understanding of contextual and
organizational business.

The new profession map of 2019 has set the international standard for people, profession
and has captured how brilliance look like. The man purpose is to champion a better work as well
as working values. The map has purpose section in the centre around which there are principle
based, evidence based and outcome based sections are seen. Finally all of these factors are
covered with three sections like core knowledge, core behaviour and specialist knowledge (see
figure 1).
