Introduction
Network of a company should maintain strong hierarchy for data management. An
organization has used data centers to organize, store, process, and disseminate large amount of
data for business (Medhi & Ramasamy, 2017). In this report, different network management
functions will describe in the later sections. As a network consultant, I will provide different
necessary steps for data centers setup for IDEAPintar.
Overview of the local data centre
Data centres are highly used in the everyday operations. It is a critical information asset
of an organization. Business processes are depends on the data. Therefore, they highly rely upon
the application, services, and storage. Data center is a facility that has composed by network
computers and large data storage (Cowley, 2012). A data centre is having much IT equipment,
such as routers, servers, firewalls, networking switches, and storage subsystems (Certiology,
2018). Infrastructures of data centers are adequate infrastructures. It includes proper power
distribution as well as supplemental power system for avoiding faults in different services
( Rouse, FCAPS (fault-management, configuration, accounting, performance, and security),
2007). It is having different things, such as electrical switching, backup generators, and
uninterrupted power supplies for data centers. They are having proper ventilation as well as air
conditioners. Data centers are also requires physical security, and proper physical space to secure
different networking equipment ( Rouse, data center, 2017).

Most of the organizations have elected to use data centers facility and services to disaster
recovery because of environment and any other reason. Data centers are part of the disaster
recovery plan for most of the organization. Therefore, they can make a replica of their IT
systems in a backup system, which is far from main system ( Moore , 2013).
Description about the FCAPS framework
International Organization for standardization (ISO) has created FCAPS framework for
network management. It has categorized in network management into different five levels, which
are as:
(F) - Fault-management
(C) - the Configuration level
(A) - The accounting level
(P) -The performance level
(S) -The security level
In Fault management level, network issues have found with reason and it will correct as
soon as possible. Network manager can take different action to prevent that issue and make
proper arrangement to reduce that problem from the network (Network engineer, 2018).
In configuration management level, all the operation in the network are controlled and
monitored through hardware and software including new equipment and programs. In this level,
equipment and programs has updated at regular basis for more security and proper working
(Mitchell, 2018).
At the accounting management level, system provides resources among network
subscribers as per their requirements and their subscription for services in an allocation level. It
is used for optimize available resources and minimizing the cost of operations (Forouzan, 2007).
Performance management level has created to manage the complete performance of the
network. It has used different concepts for maximized throughput of network as well as avoided
bottlenecks. It identified potential problems of the network and resolves them as soon as possible
(Gapiński, 2014).
