INTRODUCTION
Gaming industry is one of the most important and innovative sectors within today’s
technology. In this the video game industry is revolved around the development, marketing and
monetization of video games (Chow and et.al., 2020). This industry provides number of people
employment that develops the living standard of the people of society. This report divides into
three projects that study the video games industry that represents historic development of video
games industry. Therefore, this report also analyzes a technological innovation within games
industry. Further the second projects discuss the several factors such as culture, technological,
economic that influence the games development industry. In project three this report reflects the
presentation of findings and presents how games context have changed that reflects the cultural
aspects. Further it explains the theories to promoting the games. It helps games industry to attain
profitable results by attracting number of customers.
PROJECT 1
Discuss historic development of video games industry
As gaming industry is one of the most exciting industries within the technological world
because it plays a dynamic role within the culture, technological and entertainment world. This
industry has grown from focused markets to mainstream. The history of video games began in
the 1950s- 1960s at that time when computer scientist start designing simple games on
mainframe computers. These projects studied the development of video games industry within
the present world that attracts number of people to spend their leisure time effectively. The
journey of video games industry is started from early 1970 when “Atari” was launched that kick
start the video game industry (Contreras Bonilla and Negrón, 2018). At that time Atari was
eventually sold in console home in 1977 and become a first console that sell by the gaming
industry for earning profitability. In 1978, arcade machines are to be launched that was installed
everywhere and in 1982 it helps industry to earn more money than pop music industry and box
office. In 1985 gaming industry released that they grew more rapidly that was affected the
quality due to which brand image is to be damaged. At this time personal computers takes the
place in market that present as a new flavor within gaming industry. In coming years Nintendo
would release where industry focus on maintaining quality to recapture the market position and

customer loyalty for attaining profitable results. In this industry many competitors are presented
and in this electronic maker Sony released the PlayStation in 1994 that used CDs instead of
cartridges to increase the storage of an individual game and becomes a first in history that sale
around 100 million units. After that it comes with PlayStation 2 (DVDs) and PlayStation 3 (Blu-
rays). After this Microsoft analyzes the significance of gaming on PC so it developed the
DirectX API that assists the game programming (The history of the gaming industry in one chart,
2021). This helps companies to enter into the console market i.e. Xbox. In 2001 online market is
booming that means rising in the internet and mobile that helps gaming industry to enhances the
revenues and profit margin. This will advanced the Xbox features where industry provides the
subscription facilities where players pay the amount as a fee on monthly basis to access the
multiplayer matchmaking where customers also do voice chat which attracted the people towards
it and it will enhance gaming industry revenue. Within 2004, world of war craft would be
launched that show a peak of more than 14 million on monthly basis. Gaming industry also sees
their bright future in mobile gaming and for this they were highly struggling to tap into. At this
time many mobile companies tries to install the gaming within their mobile phone and Apple
iphone has tap into the gaming through mobile platform. At this time Microsoft and Sony focus
on launching the cloud based subscription services when they develop the new gaming. In 2020
gaming industry grab the 2.7 billion people who spend their money to play games and invest
their money to shape the gaming industry in an effective manner. In present time everyone has
their eyes on the growing $85 billion mobile slice of the gaming market where companies in
gaming industry are heavily focus on consolidate.
Assess technological innovation within games industry
Video games have long ways when they crossed the mainstream within 1980s but due to
the technological innovation within gaming industry help in brighten the gaming future. This
project analyzes the several technological innovations that were done within the gaming industry
that are elaborated below:
Voice recognition- It is to be analyzing that voice recognition is the best technological
innovation that was adopted by the gaming industry (Bayeck, 2020). Voice controlled
gaming is around for a while that was caught up effectively by the gaming effectively.
Due to innovation in technology, computers are able to recognize the voice commands
