Introduction
Gender discrimination is affecting one's gender. It is mostly seen in the organisation
when men and women both works in a business environment it is important to be have equality
within the business environment so that their could be better equality and development of the
organisation (Nekhili, Boukadhaba, and Nagati, 2021). Further it is of various types and there are
certain strategies which can helps in removing gender discrimination among the business. Also,
this report is based on Amazon and it includes literature review, research methodology, research
aim and objectives and time horizon etc.
Literature review
What are the different types of discrimination within an organisation?
According to Valenti, (2021) There are various types of discrimination among an
organisation in men and women or with the any other thing. Further, race discrimination is the
first method which is having racial discriminations and which exist in the society and also in the
working environment of the company, in relation with the Amazon, they are not having these
discrimination in their business environment. Further, this race discrimination is one of the
biggest racial discrimination which is having most common within every organisation. The next
discrimination which can be seen in some of the organisation is gender discrimination as it
occurs when a person is treated on the basis of gender. This is the most common discrimination.
Also it acne b seen in many of the forms like failure in hiring process women are untrained and
they are not even promoted within the working environment and they are even paid less. Further,
this is seen in most of the biggest companies and it is likely to be even bigger problems which is
now a days going forward in some of the areas and companies. This study shows that women are
treated on the basis of colour and men to be fixed during the pandemic.
What is the impact of gender discrimination on business and employee performance within
Amazon?
As per the views of Camerlink, Nielsen, and Vigors, (2021) The gender discrimination is
when a women and the men both are treated not equally. As in most of the organisation it is
creating negative impact because by having gender discrimination, it decrease the satisfaction of
women and also this demotivate them towards the organisational goals and objectives and they
could not able able to achieve their goals effectively. Further, it will be resulting into the

increasing of stress level among women and they could not able to perform their job effectively.
Further, if they could not be able to perform their job effectively then this may resulting into
increasing in their demotivation and company goals and objectives could not be achieved
effectively. By having this women would not be able to develop their efforts effectively and they
did not be able to achieve their profits and revenues. Gender discrimination is in the
organisation, could impact the performance of the organisation and by this and employees will
not be able to develop themselves. In relation with the Amazon, they are somewhat having
gender discrimination in their working environment and by this women could not able to feel
comfortable and they are paid less as compared to the men. So, further of employees are
developing their potential and productivity. So, this helps in development of the organisation
productivity and profits (Busetta, Fiorillo, and Palomba, 2021). In addition, if managers are not
focusing on the gender discrimination, them employees could not be able to work effectively and
they could not be able to achieve their profits and goals. It is seen that HR practises is in broader
organisational strategy, process and the practises and also it includes culture, organisational
climate and the policies of HR. so, it is identified that gender inequalities is the self reinforcing
system which can perpetuate discrimination and also a essential levers in order to reduce
discrimination which is identified.
What are the strategies adopted by Amazon for eliminating gender discrimination from the
workplace?
According to Gompers, Mukharlyamov, and Xuan, (2021) Some of the strategies which
are being used in the organisation is to be transparent with the organisation mission and vision.
The managers of the Amazon should have to provides proper direction and also clear the goals
and objectives of the company in front of employees who are working in the business
environment. The other strategy is to eliminate gender discrimination is to support women into
being senior role- the managers should have to provide full support to the women who are
working in a company so that they could get motivated and should perform their job effectively.
They should involve the, in decision making process and provides them opportunity to get
promoted and develops their relations with the senior managers as well. Further, they should
provide training to the employees and this will be helpful in enhancing some of the skills and
developing more effective information about a task which they have to perform within this
working environment. This helps in reducing the difference in biasses and also eliminates them

have to clear policy of discrimination which helps in development of the organisation employees
and they should have something different for them who is doing biasses and doing any type of
inequality.
Further, they should listen to the employees and helps in development of the
organisational profits and revenue. This policy will helps in reducing the inappropriate behaviour
and should have clear, unbiased and non retaliatory discrimination policy which helps in making
sure to have the proper comments and report on the inappropriate treatment at the working
workplace. The other strategy is to provide flexible working environment and shared a parental
leave. As Amazon is the multinational company, so they are also doing nights and day shifts both
in order to complete their work effectively. Also, they are providing flexible working
environment to their employees and provides them work from home. But in this situation, they
should also provide women a flexible working options and remote work in order to achieve their
personal gaols and feels them better (Cho, Kim, and Yoon, 2021). This will be resulting in
achievement of their goals and helps in development of the organisational gaols and objectives.
They should provide other benefits like training, parental leave and also provides responsibilities
to the women. Then only they could totally eliminate gender discrimination within their working
environment.
Rationale of the research
The given topic is having the rationale of choosing this because this will be helping in
increasing employees productivity and developing their effectiveness. Further, this will be
helping the men and women in treating everyone equally and developing their actions
accordingly. Further, this research is based on Amazon which is having gender equality within
their environment and this resulting in achievement of the organisational goals and objectives.
Further this research will helps the organisation in achieving their success and this will be
developing their profitability and their skills like communication skills, time management skills
and research skills and this will be helping in their future as well. So it will be helping in
developing equality in their working environmental and this will be developing their personality
as well (Cortina, and Areguin, 2021). This research is also important for the researcher because
they will learn about something types of discrimination and its impact on the business and their
potential of employees.

Research approach : Research approach is consisting of two types of approaches. This
includes two methods inductive and deductive (Kniffin, Narayanan, and Creary, 2021). These
both method helps in completing of the research and attainment of research aim and objectives.
In this research project the researcher will be using deductive method because this will helps in
gathering quantitative data and findings and resulting in getting reliable information as compared
to the other methods. It will be helping the researcher in achieving research aim and objectives.
Research method: Research method includes two types such as quantitative and
qualitative method. These both methods will be resulting in achieving research aim and getting
reliable information as well. Quantitative method is the one which provides practical data and
information and on the next hand, qualitative method is the one which helps in collecting in
depth information about a particular topic and this helps in developing true and reliable
information about a given topic. Within this research, researcher is using quantitative research
because this will be helpful in collecting data and information. Also there is a use of
questionnaire survey which helps in collecting and gathering data and information in most
effective manner. Further, it will be helpful in achievement of research aim and objectives.
Research strategy : Research strategies consisting of certain types these are action
research, experimental research,. Literature review, surveys and case studies etc. these strategies
will helps in covering of the data and information in most effective manner and developing true
information (Nyarko, and Kozári, 2021). Further, this research is based on the literature review
and survey because literature review is bringing in depth information about a specific topic and
on the next hand, survey is conducted through questionnaire which results in getting valid
information. In literature review, the information is collected through analysing different books
and journals and on the next hand, questionnaire survey is bringing in order to get valid
information from respondents.

Data collection method : Data is being collected through primary and secondary data
collection method. Primary method is the one which brings reliable information and provides
primary information as well. It is conducted through graphs and charts. On the next hand,
secondary method brings theoretical knowledge through existing and published articles. This
report focuses on collecting information through both of the methods. Primary information is
collected through questionnaire survey which includes close ended questions and this will be
helpful in achievement of the research aim and getting numerical information. In this graphs and
tables will be used as well. Secondary data is collected through analysing different books and
journals and this will be helpful in getting theoretical information (Zhao, O'Connor, and
Lumpkin, 2021). Also, it is presented in a form of literature review.
Sampling : The sample size taken within this project is 40 members and these are the
employees of Amazon. It includes probabilistic and non probabilist sampling method. Within
this research probabilistic sampling method is used and in this random probability sampling is
used because it provides equal opportunity to participate in the sample. Further these respondents
should have to fill this questionnaire.
Data analysis : Data is being analysed through frequency distribution table because it
will be helping in collecting better and accurate informational and uses graphs and charts in
order to collect true and reliable information as well (Bednar, Gicheva, and Link, 2021).

Considered ethics and limitations
Research ethics: There are some of the ethical consideration which is to be followed by
investigator while conducting research such as they have to maintain confidentiality, they have to
take consent of all the members and respondents who are providing data and information about
particular topic and it will be helpful in achievement of the research aim and objectives. Further,
they have to provides true and reliable information to the audience and should not disclose the
information in front of any third party (Chauhan, 2021). Also, they could not have to do any type
of bias with the results received.
Limitation : The limitation of the present research is that there will be lack of financial
resources, lack of time management and the lack of resources for conducting this research. These
limitation will be faced by researcher and this could be solved by using Gantt chart in order to
complete this research on time. Also, in this secondary research is used for development of

From the above, it is concluded that gender equality is most of the bigger task within
every organisation now a days. It is impacting business and their employees productivity and
their potential as well. This will be helpful in generating more profits and helps in making the
company reputations in the market.
