Introduction
The report aims at describing the genetic engineering innovation that is implemented
within the agriculture for the purpose of increasing yield. The technologies are basically used
for the purpose of having a better growth of agriculture. The report has described the
innovation and market update that is being achieved with the implementation of genetic
engineering. Genetically modified crops are basically provides a better yield and nutrients
thus it is important to have proper agriculture. The main purpose is to implement proper
genetic engineering methods so that it can provide better foods. The later part of the report
has included the contemporary issues that are addressed with the use of GE crops. The major
problems that are addressed with the use of GE crops that it affects the soil conditions that
leads to impacting the yield of crops. The report has also described the information about
actual implementation of technology that is being incorporated within the agriculture so that
it can provide better results towards the agriculture sector. The last part of the report has
included the detailed information regarding the benefits that are offered with the use of GM
crops.
Newness of the innovation and its market uptake
Genetically modified crops are one of the best applications of genetic engineering.
GM plants that are used in agriculture are those who’s DNA have been modified using
various methods of genetic engineering. The main objective is to develop a trend that will
help in providing better nutrients towards the plant. For examples in case of food crops the
traits that are mainly desired to be added are resistance to pests, diseases, resistance to
chemical treatments and enhancing the nutrient profile of the plant. Farmers have extensively
adopted GM technologies and expansion in agricultural land area has been noted since the
technology has been introduced. The innovation rooted itself in agricultural fields in the year
