INTRODUCTION
The following report is a self-reflection about my learning all the principles of care or good
practices and its importance on equality and social care. The purpose of this report is to share the
experience and knowledge that I had gained from the understanding of the report about caring
and good practices with the help of self-assessment.
MAIN BODY
I understood that acknowledging care and good practices can improve and enhance the well-
being, respect, dignity and independence of individuals in the development. I learn that
comprehensive caring and good practices can help to enhance the health operations and overall
society to develop strength among the people. The care giving professionals show support to the
patients who are physically disabled, weak, aged, vulnerable, minority, psychologically regarded
etc. so that their health improvement can be enhanced. The professionals should support the old
age people and vulnerable groups so that they can perform their day to day activities by enjoying
their life effectively and efficiently (Howson and McKay, 2020). I understood that, in order to
enhance the care and good practices, the compassion among the patients and the caregiver must
be strong and display a collaborative effort of developing good practices among people.
From my experience I developed a point of view that the concept of caring or care giving is
very complex and it includes a variety of God practices to be performed for achieving it. Caring
and caregiving requires a lot of concern, trust, support, dignity, respect, compassion, kindness,
responsibility, affection and belief which makes it a very complex activity. I learnt that, Caring
requires a lot of patience and hard work which requires a high level of confidence and
knowledge within an individual to get a rewarding experience. In my concern caring is a very
complex activity and has diversities that are performed by different views (Montirosso, Provenzi
and Mascheroni, 2021). I identified certain aspects about caring that can help to provide better
experience to the people and society. I learnt about the good practices such as effective
communication, dignity, autonomy, confidentiality, respect, privacy choices, and decision of care
etc. to enhance care giving activities of a professional. I also learnt about national Hike of needs
theory to enhance the principles of care or good practices.

I understand that there are many election strategies that can be taken in order to enhance the
activities of caring like enhancing the dignity, respect and independence of the people. The
strategies like effective communication can help to understand and listen to the needs of people
to improve their experience with the care given. I learn that the expression of gratitude toward
the people can also enhance the caregiving activities and good practices. I learnt that the
activities and strategies like expressing and fulfilling the promises done to the people can also
improve the quality of care or good practice within the society. I found that CARL model of
reflection is very helpful to analyse the scenario and focus on improving professionalism in my
caregiving practice. In this framework or CARL technique, ‘C’ stands for the contents of the
experiences and I gained knowledge about various practices of caregiving such as providing
companionship, assessing medical needs, etc. ‘A’ stands for actions that were taken by me, I
started to provide support to the patients, provided companionship, understood their problems so
that best caregiving can be provided to them. ‘R’ is for results that I really obtained as positive
outcomes for my efforts this was a reward for my efforts to learn about best caregiving practices.
Finally ‘L’ for lessons I obtained about various principles of caregiving and various
considerations to become the best care provider.
I learnt that it is important to undertake certain practices in order to reduce the abuse and
anti-social activities on the minority groups and making strict laws regarding the discriminatory
practices to them. I also discovered the impact of key legislation policies and codes of conduct
that underpins the health and social care practices of people for enhancing their experiences. I
also learnt about the human right law that is a universally accepted human right code that allows
enhancing the care and good practices of people across the world. Moreover, I had evaluated the
rights and autonomy of vulnerable people that were protected by the ethical responsibility of the
governments for providing the protection of minorities, women, children and vulnerable people
from abuse and harm. This practice of improving the care of vulnerable people and good
practices to enhance their caring activities is also understood (Young and et. al., 2021). I learn
about the equality act 2010 that discussed about the impacts of anti-discriminatory practice and
equality to all and freedom to all according to the universal rights of human being. This shows
how much it is to provide better care and good practices for improving health and safeguarding
vulnerable people.

CONCLUSION
The above report has been presenting self-reflection about understanding of key principles
of care giving and good practices of caregiving such as effective communication respectively
privacy confidentiality and autonomy etc. This report has been obtained about learning of
various principles that have been presented in self-reflection. Moreover, self-reflection has been
providing the understanding of my learning through self-reflection with the use of CARL model
of reflection. Above self-reflection has also evaluated the rights and autonomy of vulnerable
people and importance of risk assessment in relation to safeguarding them and their rights as well
as good practices in caregiving.
