The organisation Google is the biggest known industry in the world of the internet,
started in the year of 1998 as a research project to make the best search engine that is possible
for the people to search the web for things. The creators at the time of the creation of the
Google did not understand that the product will be so much popular in the coming time. It
would not a false claim if said that the Googlesearch is one of the best in the time and the
search criteria is most accurate among the nearest competitors. In this paper, the searching
techniques of the search engine will be discussed along with the reason for the popularity of
the organisation. A brief about the organisation will also be discussed.
The first thing that strikes the mind of common people about Google is that it has the
monopoly as a search engine all over the cyber world. As an organization, Google LLC has
developed from being a technological organization to a multi-national company that
specializes mostly in delivering services and products that are mainly related to the internet.
The company was founded by the duo Sergei Brin and Larry Page in the year 1998 still
continuing with their PhD at the University of Stanford in California [1]. Although, the
company gained a huge popularity all over the globe, yet it is considered that the most noted
product the company has provided to the cyber world has been the Google search engine.
Other than that, it has a series of products with immense market demand and recognition.
The Searching Technique is that is followed is discussed further. The most
renowned product offered by Google LLC is the Google Search Engine, or what is commonly
termed as Google Search, has been reported to have gained monopoly over the cyber world as
the most used search engine over the globe. The search engine, colloquially termed as
Google, has been reported to handle three billion web searches each day. As per further
reports, the Google search engine has a market share of 64 percent in the United States of
America [2]. The purpose that Google search engine serves is mainly of finding texts or
search by words in publicly accessible documents that the web servers offer to the people

using internet. Although, Larry Page and Sergei Brin initially developed the search engine for
this purpose, but nowadays, the search is not just limited to text and words but has expanded
arenas to even find image files and recognize locations on maps with the utilization of Global
Positioning System maps.
Various other countries are trying to give hard competitions to Google by utilizing
their search engines, such as Soso.com and Baidu in China, Yandex in Russia and others, but
the collective use of Google Search Engine all over the globe has tossed the possibility of
other search engines to overpower it for now.
Inverted indexing technique: The search techniques in Google Search Engines
follow some set algorithms, generally the inverted indexing technique. This technique
involves keeping each word inside a document list on the web that holds it. The matching
documents are retrieved by responding to the corresponding queries [3]. The idea that is
basically follows is the intersecting of the lists by the matching words in the query. It is after
that the documents are processed by extracting the quality signals in accordance with the
document that is being processed and the query pair. These documents are then ranked
according to the signals of the query and the documents. The search then returns the top ten
documents found per page as per the ranking order.
Forward Indexing and Ranking: Indexing and Ranking forms the central ideas that
Google search engines use while the search process. The process of indexing follows listing
of every document found on the cyber world. It then applies the automated scripts called the
spiders or “Web Crawlers” for the indexing technique. Otherwise, Google has also developed
its own indexing bot called the “Google Bot” crawler [4]. The listing and indexing follows a
perfect order and gives preference to few popular websites first. These are the websites that
happens to have the most footfalls, like Wikipedia, Blogspot and others. The order of ranking
