INTRODUCTIONHealth and safety management refers to the responsibility of firm towards wellbeing ofemployees. Along with this, they have to use proper procedure so that they can identify hazardsat the workplace and reduce accidents as well as exposure to the harmful situations andsubstances. Safety is important in the organisation so that they can keep the individuals andservice users safe (Chartier, 2014). The present study is based on case study in which Mr.Johnson who is having the age of 79 years. The owner of nursing home was prosecuted by theexecutive of health and safety due to getting failed to ensure the safety of Mr. Johnson. Presentstudy describes about the policies as well as procedure which is incorporated by regulatorybodies which assist in maintaining a safety along with the hygiene within organisation. TASK 11.1 Reviewing the systems, policies and procedure for communicating information on health andsafety in Sunlight Nursing HomeThere are different legislations which are related to health and safety in health and socialcare setting. These laws or regulations used by Sunlight nursing home are:Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 – There are so many issues which are related to health,safety and welfare of employees across different sectors in business entity. By using this act,staff members of Sunlight nursing home have to fulfil the requirements of patients and alsoprovide proper care to them and cooperate with employers (Dėjus and Antuchevičienė, 2013). Management of Health and Safety at work regulations, 1992 – This act helps in carrying outthe risk assessment as well as recording of the significant findings. It helps in using the properprocedure so that employees of firm can provide clear information as well as training toemployees so that they can work together with other staff members. Health and safety Regulations, 1981 – According to this regulation, employers have to useproper and correct information which helps in providing care to the patients of Sunlight carehome. Along with this, the manager has to provide proper training to their staff members forproviding services in health and social care workplace. The health department of Sunlight nursing home has to generate the best policies whichare dependent on providing appropriate services to patients. Management has to use the best andupgraded techniques so that they can identify, analyse as well as remove the hazards from health

and social workplace (Fan and et.al., 2014). The staff members have to make strong relationswith the employees so that they can easily communicate their problems related to injury, illnessor diseases. These Acts provide basic guidance to employees so that they can manage theprovision of first-aid as well as among the employees they have to create awareness about thearrangement of first aid. M1Health and safety at work act, 1974 is stated under the case study which is used by thecourt to make charges on the accused. This is an act which is emphasised on health and safety ofemployees along with the patients which can be considered as a type of customer for SunlightNursing Home.D1 New employees in organisation have to be recruited and they should have properknowledge and skills by which they can provide proper services to consumers. The managers offirm have to provide proper support to them which will help them in enhancing their knowledgealong with the activities of hospital. New recruiters should have the information related to healthand safety. As they are working in the hospital, they should be aware regarding issues likeinfections and for that, they have to wear a proper kit and dress to reduce the effect of diseaseson them (Gao, Tian and Tu, 2015).1.2 Responsibilities in a specific health and social care workplace for the management which isrelated to organisational cultureIn all the nursing homes or those places where they are providing services related tohealth and social care, different parties like employers, owners, supervisors and suppliers areresponsible for detecting and correcting the health and safety risk. Employers of company haveto take different safety measures so that they can protect the health and safety of employees.Along with this, employees play an important role in providing the services to person who arehaving some disease. Responsibilities of employers are that they have to check and ensure that the workingplace is safe and secured. Along with this, they have to identify and resolve all the problemsrelated to health and safety by consulting and cooperating with them (Haas and Yorio, 2016).The employers of Sunlight nursing home have to take all the safety measures.
