Integrated health and social care Personal self awareness Personal self awareness refers to a clear awareness and opinion of people personality that includes thoughts, beliefs, motivation, weaknesses, strengths and emotions. It also allows people to understand the ideas and thoughts of other people. Personal self awareness is important to understand people easily. Furthermore, people are able to share their experience and thoughts with other people. People make effective and unique decisions with the help of personal self awareness. Along with this, personal self awareness is a big and important part of the both philosophy and therapy (Young and Young, 2014). Self awareness is also important in people health care. It is the ability to be cognizant and aware of one’s life thoughts, experience and abilities. Self awareness can be used in counseling sessions to help both the client as well as therapist. It is also mandatory for optimal routine life activities. Also, it can help a therapy session be more unique and effective. Self awareness is an effective tool for human trait that can provide benefits oneself and their social relations. In addition, it also provides various advantages to professional nurse. The people can easily understand and analyze feelings of other people through personal self awareness. Moreover, it is significant to maintain unique and dynamic relations between workers and clients (Fullan, 2014). Self esteem Self esteem reflects a person’s overall subjective emotional evaluation of his or her own worth. It is a judgment and analysis of oneself as well as attitude toward the self. Self esteem consists beliefs, thoughts and values about oneself as well as emotional states such as shame, triumph, despair and pride (Steinem, 2012). It is an important part of every person’s life and self esteem will also help people at workplace. It will also help to build and develop confidence for performing task and duties effectively. People can easily know about themselves with the help ofhigh self esteem. It also helps to maintain good and effective relationship among the people (Kernis, 2013). Motivation Motivation is the word derived from the word ‘motive’ that means desires, requirements, needs, wants and derives within the individuals. It is the process of motivating and encouraging 2

Motivation is one of the important functions which being performed by management to create willingness among the workers. Motivation is important source of every business because it helps to maximize and increase productivity and outcomes of the organization. Also, it helps to improve and enhance the performance and abilities of employees (Schunk and Zimmerman, 2012). With effective motivation, employees start to perform task and duties with higher efficiency and effectiveness. It also leads to achievement of organizational goals and helps to build and maintain reciprocal relationship among the employees. Furthermore, optimum utilization of resources can be possible through motivation. It plays a significant role to explore and flourish business activities and operations of the firm worldwide. Goals and objectives of thefirm can be attained smoothly if cooperation and coordination takes place which can be successfully done through incentives as well as motivation. To motivate workers, the company needs to provide rewards, bonus, incentives, and other facilities to the employees (Kirstein, 2010). Contribution of personal self awareness, self esteem and motivation to person centered services Person centered care is a way of thinking and doing things that sees the people using social and health services as equal partners in developing, planning and monitoring care to fulfill the needs and requirements of people. In person centered services, personal self awareness focuses on the personal relationship between a client and counselor (Capuzzi and Stauffer, 2016). The counselor and client relationship helps to improve self realization and self development and it also helps to reduce issues and problems of people. Personal self awareness also provides an effective way to promote personal growth and understanding in a client. With effective self awareness, counselors are able to explore and expand their knowledge, personal development and experience. In addition, it will also help to explore and develop counselor skillsand potential in an effective way (McCormack and McCance, 2011). Apart from this, self esteem also plays vital role in person centered services. Self esteem helps to overcome on the challenges and barriers in person centered services. It also helps to motivate and encourage patients in order to eliminate frustration and stress. Self esteem is an 3
