The current research study is about dementia people as the aim of this study is to investigate
ways to give quality oriented services in supporting them. The researcher uses secondary data
collection methods in collecting data which includes the literature review. The palliative care and
other methods such as mobile heath care service offered to them.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Research background
As time is passing by the increase in health and the expectancy of social awareness, it has
been found that the people of UK have improved a lot. Since the year 2015, it is seen that the
population of people above 65 years has increased a lot. It has been found that 8.5 millions of
people in the country fall in the age group of 65 years (Mariecurie.org.uk, 2018). This increase in
the population is good but at the same time it is posing threat to the nurses as most of the people
falling in this group of age suffers from dementia. This problem is a big issue as dementia creates
problematic circumstances for the nearby people, in some extreme cases, the behaviour shown
by the people suffering from dementia cannot be accepted by the surrounding people. Mostly, the
sufferers are left in a separate part of the house or in the care centre of dementia. However, these
diseases do not occur because of a single reason, it occurs if the person has gone through severe
mental instability as the result of underlying health conditions like Alzheimer’s and Lewy
bodies. (Brooke and Latham, 2015).
In the case of United States, it is found that the nurses of the patients are becoming more
concerned about their roles and they are trying to provide their best for improving the life of the
dementia patients. Many barriers are there with in the care services of dementia which is
increasing the efforts of the nurses. The increase in the care services remains hindered because of
the fear of the patient in accepting the symptoms and of the fear of losing the social values and
contacts. It becomes difficult for the family members to take care of the patients as the patients
