Introduction
The nursing leadership and management are the two most essential components in the
nursing profession that allow in offering a high quality of care. It helps in identifying and
conducting the nursing role within the healthcare settings and gaining various kinds of skills
that form the foundations of the practice (Murray, 2017). The knowledge of nursing
leadership and management is critical in understanding the needs and demands of the patients
and offering personalized and patient-centric care in order to address the health issues
critically. The organization chosen for conducting the research is Banner Healthcare for
addressing the readiness of the network to meet the needs of healthcare of the citizens for the
next decades.
Discussion
Description of the health care organization or network
Banner Health is a health system based in Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States. It is a non-
profitable organization operating in 28 hospitals and other specialized facilities in 6 states in
the country. It is stated to be the largest employer in Arizona and one of the largest in the
country that employs approximately 50000 employees. It was founded in 1999, and the net
income of the system in 2017 was $5.78 million. It offers various kinds of products that
include emergency healthcare service, long-term care, rehabilitation, pharmacy and the
primary care to patients. It even operates a Medicare Advantage insurance plan, which is
referred to as the University Care Advantage and AHCCCS plan, also known as the Banner
University Family Care. It had collaborated with the University of Texas MD Anderson
Cancer Center that was established by the Nation Cancer Act of 1971 (Bannerhealth.com,
2020).
