Why is this assessment relevant?
As health professionals you will have opportunity to apply for grants as part of an organisation or an individual to
run health promotion projects, research strategies and healthy living programs. Each grant application will require
different levels of information, however they all want to know: who you are, what you want to do and why you
want to do it, what you hope to achieve, how much will it cost and how long will it take. This assessment presents
you with the opportunity to apply for a mock grant to run a health program in a rural and remote area. It will
introduce you to the information often required when submitting a grant application.
Criteria:
Choose one of the following topic areas to design an innovative health program to run in a rural or remote part
of Australia. Present your program by completing a grant application using the template.
You will need to identify an actual rural/remote Australian community to run your program in. Your program can
be addressed at any target group, for example, children, health workers, farmers etc.
Topics:
Addressing illicit drug use in rural Australia
Oral and dental health in very remote Australian communities
Increasing physical activity in rural Australia
Encouraging healthy eating in rural and remote areas
Make sure your program goals are clear and reachable: SMART:
Specific (simple, sensible, significant).
Measurable (meaningful, motivating).
Achievable (agreed, attainable).
Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).
Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive).

Executive summary
The innovative health program is mainly focused on the Indigenous Australian community
that mainly attracting towards illicit drug. Through program, it is addressing illicit drug use in rural
Indigenous community in Australia. Improving health situation condition among different rural
populations ( de Deuge & et.al., 2020). There are lot of families suffering from the poverty and
lower income in Australian. The health program will support for providing the awareness among
different people where they can self-examine the current situation or condition.
The aim of program at promoting health in rural area, raising the community awareness, reducing
the psychological stress through attending the needs of better health care service. Afterwards, it is
also promoting the rules and regulation related use of illicit drugs, majorly focused on the
consequences of illegal drugs. In this way, it will be improving the quality of living and
socioeconomic status of rural people ( de Deuge & et.al., 2020). Innovative health program will
support for building the strong relationship with Indigenous community people in Australia.

In this report, it will focus on the innovation health program which mainly providing the
better support for targeted Indigenous community in Australia, who will use illicit drugs, alcohol
on regular basis. The health program will help for affected aboriginal population through illicit
drugs. Many other local communities always supporting for reducing the significant impacts on
health body. That’s why, Government initiative to promote alternative solution through health
promotional program. In order to utilizing consequences of drugs among different Aboriginal
peoples will become closely involved with drugs (Puslednik & Brennan, 2020). These population
are closely attracted towards illicit drugs. Appropriate structure will be established at rural
community level to interact or coordinate the health activities. It will be consisting of
representative from Australian government and other leaders. To ensure the success of innovative
health program.
Key Outcome (50 words what does the program aim to achieve)

The ultimate aim of innovative health program is improving efficiency, effectiveness, quality,
sustainability and affordability health care. Health innovation is to improve the ability to interact
with (Aboriginal community) and meet the personal need or requirements. The outcome of
program is to be reducing down use of drugs, raising awareness towards its ill effects.

aboriginal population at Torres Strait Islands (Farquhar, Moran & Schmidt, 2020).

Target group (100 words -who is the project targeted )
The project targeted at indigenous Australians aged 15 and above children, higher level of
illicit drugs consumption (Puslednik & Brennan, 2020) By using health program, it is targeting the
large population and adjusting for age.
Just under one quarter 23% of indigenous Australian had used by illicit drugs within 12 months
(Puslednik & Brennan, 2020). 15% children had used cannabis and 7.7 % not concerned about the
medical use (Haun, Tomoyasu & Atkins, 2020). In this way, it has been increased the health issue
or problem while increasing the death rate among indigenous community in Australia (Health
program initiatives. 2018).
Stakeholders (200 words- who or what organisations, community people etc will
need to be involved and why)
The Australian local agency is considered the active involvement of people from
communities preparing for different activities. Within health promotion program, local agency
which include stakeholders such as program manager, staff executive, local community, funding
agencies and government agencies (Puslednik & Brennan, 2020).
Australian local communities are mainly focused on the targeted population, performed the
different actions applicable within health promotion program in Australian (Puslednik & Brennan,
2020). in this way, it is targeting the aboriginal population, who have been used illicit drugs,
establishing the better communication and interaction to give towards health problems. Australian
local community is to interact with aboriginal population and provide right direction.
The government agencies should be involved in planning health promotional activities that
seek to reduce the risk of health (Puslednik & Brennan, 2020). Innovative health program is the
best for rural Aboriginal population to increase its preparedness and reduce the consumption of
illicit drugs. The children whose aged 15 and above, they have not specific idea about the harmful
consequences of illicit drugs. It will be increased the complication in future like mental illness,
heart problem etc. that’ why, different stakeholder participates in the program activities to promote
awareness regarding consumption of illicit drugs.
