PROJECT 1
INTRODUCTION
Media is known as fourth pillar of democracy. It is transparent and unbiased and it is also
having responsibility for educating public (Pearson, B.J., 2017). It is used as a platform for
public discussion and exchanging the viewpoints and opinions.
MAIN BODY
How new technologies have enabled media democratization
Media is having power for controlling and influencing political discourse of a nation. That
is why, media is playing an essential role within shaping the viewpoints and guiding people to
understand different discourses and events that are taking place across the world. It is concluded
that media is not free from offences and biases (Saraswati, 2018). There are some situations
where something can go wrong in hands then media has to abuse and further agendas for fuelling
hatred and managing the public opinion. It is very dangerous because people are influenced
easily by managing the special way thinking. It is important for strong media as it is helpful in
resisting corruption and providing access for mass public. Media democracy is the group of ideas
which are believed in reforming mass media by improving public service broadcasting and
participating in different form of journalism and media. It also provides platform for public
Discussion at the expression of opinions.
Main objective of media democracy is for establishing strong democracy. This has to be
transparent and accessible for all. It will also helpful for empowering society contributing
democracy as well as values. There is need for relying upon information technology and
reaching out to public for empowering them and encouraging them for participating in
journalism and media. Media democracy helps in advocating democratic values, corruption and
useless influence from both these sides.
Media democracy is useful for propagating private ownership and commercialization that is
affecting media in a negative manner. It can be concluded that narrow, watered and biased
version of media is limiting the public viewpoint. There is requirement of equal distribution of
social, economic, cultural and information capital that is required for leading to higher managing
of awareness within public regarding the political discourse.

You must write a brief explanation as to what the research question is and why you have chosen
this topic.
Feminism, critical theories, positivism, socialism, and other ideologies are all part of media
democracy. This is in line with the organization's goal of embracing diversity and offering a
balanced, prejudice-free viewpoint. This idea sparked the media democracy movement in the
United States and Canada. The movement arose from the concentration of broadcast media, as
well as a lack of variety in representation and viewpoint. It aims to solve societal concerns such
as racism, gender bias, poverty, wealth inequality, and the growth of neoliberalism, among
others. This topic is chosen as it will increase knowledge about present condition of media
democracy within world.
You are then required to conduct a research into the historical and contemporary elements of
media production, and what has changed throughout its development process.
Critics claim that media democracy objectifies the community and its level of understanding
and cognition. To participate in public discourse, it is considered that every member of society is
well-informed and educated. A strategy like this would only serve that will further divide
america along racial lines. Researchers who work for large news organisations are likewise
qualified and thus must follow a set of rules when covering. (Šimunjak, 2018). As a result, even
inside corporate media, there is some regulation. Dahlgrens (1995) divided the mediated public
sphere into four dimensions to better comprehend it as the media evolved into a location where
the public may engage in the democratic process. The media can be looked at as a separate
entity. Is the media independent or controlled by the government? Do they serve the general
interest or the restricted range of interests of the media's owners? Are government-funded and
controlled media outlets serving the public good or serving as propaganda mouthpieces? Are
private firms advancing their own business interests or the public's when they possess the media?
An examination of the topic is a fundamental activity in developing a media sector support plan,
as it informs the choice of an effective programmatic approach to promote media sector growth.
These efforts can take a variety of forms, including creating the legal enabling environment,
building reform parties, lowering access restrictions, promoting media investment, and/or
training. Of course, in an ideal world, programs would combine these techniques to give a well-
rounded mix of activities. However, expeditions may only be able to use one or two ways at a
