This lodge is situated in the ruralarea of NSW. However, lack of skilled staff, distance from the city and poor service quality arethe major challenges of this organization. In order to reduce their impact on the environment,they have taken green marketing strategy, energy conservation policy, and waste managementpolicy. These initiatives will be helpful for this hotel to minimize their impact on theenvironment and develop an eco-friendly business. However, this organization also tries toincorporate local culture into the service system. Moreover, they use green building strategy todevelop an environmentally friendly design for their hotel. Hence, such sustainable initiatives arehelpful for Eco Lodge to make their business sustainable in Australian hospitality sector.

EMS enables the business organization to develop anenvironmentally friendly business and to increase its operating efficiency (Guerrero-Baena et al.2015). EMS gives a framework to an organization, which helps them to achieve theirenvironmental goals by controlling their business operation. EMS is a continuous improvementprocess. By developing an EMS the organization is able to address its regulatory requirement ina cost-effective and systematic manner. This deals with the EMS system in the context of EcoLodge. This is a Green Hotel and present at New South Wales in Australia. However, this hotelis situated in the remote area of NSW and there is a Sanctuary Wildlife besides this lodge.Environmental Management SystemPhase 1: Initial Reviewa. Legal AspectEco Lodge wants to be a green hotel. Their mission is to reduce their business impact onthe environment and to achieve the Green Globe Certification. In order to achieve this, they needto follow both local and international law. According to the Environmental Protection andBiodiversity Act 1999, any business needs to reduce their impact on the matters that areprotected by this law (Legislation.gov.au 2018). By following this Act Eco Lodge will be able todevelop an eco-friendly business in Australia. On the other hand, this organization needs tofollow International Environmental Protection Act 1983 to protect the natural resources. Besides

Competitive AspectIn order to understand the competitive advantages of an organization, it is important touse the benchmarking tool. Benchmarking tool makes a comparison between the performance oftwo or more businesses (Brokenrivermr.com.au 2018). In the context of Eco Lodge, it has beenreceived that their performance rating is 4. On the other hand, Broken River Mountain Resort is apopular tourist lodge in Australia, and their rating is 5. They have been certified for their eco-friendly business. They are environmentally and socially sustainable (Oliveira et al. 2016).Hence, Eco-Lodge has a low rating in comparison to Broken River Mountain Resort as they havenot achieved green globe certification. Therefore, they need to improve their strategy to make asocially and environmentally sustainable business. This allows such organization to get local labor easily atlow cost. Wildlife is the major attraction of the international tourists (Chen 2015). Hence, thepresence of sanctuary wildlife is a big strength of Eco Lodge to gain the tourist's attention.Besides these strengths, there are some weaknesses. One of the major weaknesses is the distanceof Eco-Lodge from the city. However, the tourists have to take a car to go to the nearest town
