Executive summary
The main purpose of this report is to identify the external business environment being faced by
the UK hospitality industry. The paper serves the purpose by studying the different contents in
context to the chosen hotel chain “AccorHotels”. The study finds that despite being one of the
leading hotel chains in the world, AccorHotels, face strong competition from Airbnb. It has
failed so far to respond to emerging technologies, which has actually benefitted to Airbnb.
