Human capital development skills The responsibilities of a human resource manager are not only restricting to hiring and recruiting of workforce within the organization, but, it is their responsibility to conduct training and development programmes in order to enhance the existing skill set of the employees and increase their working efficiency. Communication and interpersonal skills The role of a Human resource manager includes effectively communicating within the organization with respect to the needs and wants of the employees within the company. The Humanresourcemanagerneedstonegotiatesalarywiththeemployees,explainsthe benefits the organization will provide to the employees, helps the employees in effective resolution of conflicts within the organization. All of this requires an individual to have effective communication as well as interpersonal skills within themselves. Strategic thinking, planning and organizing The human resource manager of an organization must have the ability to think strategicallyanddeterminetheorganizationalgoals ofanenterpriseandtakerelevant measures in order to achieve the same within the company (Ozbilgin, 2020). One of the key responsibility of a human resource manager within an enterprise is hire employees on basis of their existing skillsets and conducting interviews for the respective candidates. The Human resource manager should also know how to retain the existing employees within the company as the workforce of an organization is the most valuable asset of any company (Persaud, 2020). For the same, an individual must learn to motivate the employees in order to work hard and achieve the organizational objects. But the manager should be capable of identifying the efforts made by each of the individual employees within the company and then reward them on the basis of the same. This help the manager in encouraging the workforce and also retaining them within the company. b)Summary As a Human resource manager, I have determined that I have certain skills that helps in my career development with respect to the field of human resource management. I have come to determine that I am good at conflict resolution and team work. This helps me in playing my role within the company and allow me take effectively increase the efficiency of the workforce by resolving the existing disputes and collaborating their efforts. Personal SWOT analysis Strengths On the basis of conducting a self-assessment in order to determine my capabilities and weaknesses, I have analysed that I am certainly good at certain skills. These skillsinvolveemotionalintelligence,activelistening,conflictresolution,team development and team working, and adaptability. I am good at listening to the needs and problems of others and communicating their messagestoseniormanagementinordertosatisfytheemployeeswithinthe company and make them feel comfortable (Fenech, Baguant, and Ivanov, 2019). Since, I am a good listener, it gets easier for me to resolve conflicts with employees as I listen attentively in order to determine who is right or who is wrong. Similarly, I am good in determining the qualities of different individuals and forming teams on the basis of these qualities in order to increase the working efficiency of the employees. Weaknesses However,Ilackcertainskillswithinmyselfwhichareessentialfortherolesand responsibilities of a Human Resource Manager within an organization. These include: I have determined that I lack the skills such as effective communication, project management, decision making, problem solving, leadership and motivation. Ifinditdifficultsometimestocommunicatewithothers.Thisisso,because, sometimes I am unable to explain others with respect to what I am saying to them. I am indecisive in nature. I take too much time in making important business decision decisions (Héder, Szabó, and Dajnoki, 2018). Therefore, there is a need for me to take certain measures helps in boosting my confidence with respect to making key business decisions within a company. According to my self-assessment, I have identified that I am unable to lead a team. Its gets difficult for me to handle a group of people and coordinate their work within the company for the purpose of increasing their working efficiency within the organization and help the company in achieving the same. Opportunities In order to eliminate the weaknesses, it is essential for me to take certain steps with respect to these.
For the purpose of developing effective communication skills within myself, it is important for me to inculcate the habit of reading, enhance my vocabulary and focus on my body language in order to communicate with others while making an impact. For the purpose of enhancing my project management skills, I will try to develop an understanding towards the learning of a project management software. In order to develop the qualities of leading a team, I will try to inculcate a habit of integrate the efforts of different employees within company, learn to delegate the work among the different individuals and listen to their needs and wants within the company. Threats There are several threats to my career development if I do not take the relevant measures in order to address my weaknesses, they have been mentioned below: If I do not develop these skills and qualities within myself, it will affect my career as I will not be provided with an opportunity to perform the job roles and responsibilities of human resource manager. Also, I will lag behind in my career because of the lack of skills and capabilities within myself. Also, the lack of soft skills within myself will restrict me under the company and I will not be able to grab the opportunities that are present in front of me because of my inability to express my ideas and views. c) Elements of group dynamics The elements of group dynamics are mentioned below: Engagement While communicating within a team or a group, it is essential for each and every individual to present their views in front of everyone and engage themselves within the group. Openness It is important for the leader to make the members of the team feel comfortable. This helps the members to effectively communicate among each other, share their views with them without the feeling of being judged. Support While interacting within the teams, it is essential for the members to support each other and do not fight with each other in context of their specific views. Style of dominant behaviour In a group, there are several members that takes part in communicating with each other. Some are dominating in nature while some are quiet and introvert. Therefore, it is essential for the leader to determine the style of each member and create a balance within the team accordingly. Conflict resolution methods The strategies that helps the Human resource manager with respect to resolving a conflict are as follows: Don’t ignore the conflict. in order to resolve a conflict within the workplace, it is important for an organization to recognise the fact that there is a conflict within the organization. Address the issue ((Meyers, and et.al 2020)). It is important to determine the conflict and effectively listen to the point of view of each and every member with the team and then take a step in order to address the issue effectively.
For the purpose of resolving a conflict, it is important that the human resource manager bring both the parties that are associated with the conflict together and help them in resolving the same. Lastly, the manager must constantly monitor the actions of the workforce in order to determine arising of such conflicts within the company.
