Abstract
Main purpose of preparing this dissertation is to identifying the influence of HR policies on
employee's job satisfaction. It is a main purpose and for achieving this purpose different tasks or
activities were done by researcher. Literature review is an essential part of the dissertation that
was done by using secondary sources such as articles, books, magazines, journals etc. With the
use of these sources researcher easily collected secondary data about the topic that helped them
in fulfilling of research gap. Research methodology is another and main activity of completing
dissertation. It was done by investigator with the use by questionnaire, research approaches,
philosophy etc. These were effective in collecting of quantitative information in limited time
period. For data analysis and interpretation, frequency distribution analysis was applied for
analysing quantitative information easily and timely. Ms-Excel was also applied by investigator
for making effective graphs of each question. This supported researcher in presenting of data
regarding the in graphical manner. At last, conclusion and recommendation was completed by
describing information of entire dissertation in short manner. As this section proof that aim and
objectives of research was fulfilled or achieved which the use of questionnaire as well as
secondary sources used for literature review.

Introduction
Identify a specifics researchable topic area
Human resource considered as most valuable assets of organisation that will contribute in
successful accomplishment of set objectives. HR policies play crucial role in growth and
development of employee’s performance and this will lead to have on overall productivity of
organisation. Job satisfaction refers as the extent to with workers and staff member are self
motivated to conduct business activities (Frenkel, Sanders and Bednall, 2013). This can be only
done when employees are happy with their job and job role. It has been determined that HR
policies will lead to influence on employees job satisfaction. HR practices and policies will
impact on enhancing job satisfaction of employees as well as meeting with their needs or
requirements. Job satisfaction is one of the crucial aspect of organisation as it is very important
that each and every employee of organisation is satisfied with their job role. Job satisfaction will
lead to have major impact on performance of employees as well as their productivity. It is crucial
for organisation that each and every employee is satisfied with their job so that they can focus on
accomplishment of desired goals and objectives. Chosen company for this research report is Next
Plc. This is well established British company that is offering high quality clothing products and
services. Next Plc organisation was founded by Joseph Hepworth in year 1864. This organisation
is providing its products and services to different part of the world. In this report different
aspects of HR policies are determined in order to analyse job satisfaction of employees.

Literature review
Literature review is essential and significant process that will be used by investigator for
collecting, analysing and using secondary data about the specific field of study. There are
number of secondary sources that will be used within an investigation for collection of secondary
data about the influence of human resource policies on employee's job satisfaction. These
sources are magazines, books, articles, publication study and many others. Main purpose or
literature review within a dissertation is to find out research gap in previous studies. Main gap of
current investigation is the influence of HR policies over job satisfaction of employee. In
previous research, there was information regarding the HR policies and its influence on
employee’s performance but there is no or lack of data about the types of HR policies and their
impact on employee’s performance (Jawaad and et. al., 2019). In order to overcome or eliminate
such gap within current study, research questions will be used by researcher. This will helps in
achieving of research aim and objectives as well as fulfilling of research gap easily. Research
questions of current research will be explained as below:
What are the different types of HR policies in context of an organisation?
There are different HR polices that is developed by Next Plc company and these policies
are helpful in effective communication at workplace (20 Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction,
2017). This company is focusing on anti harassment HR polices, leave and time off benefit
policies, safety and health polices and so on. These are the major HR polices that is followed by
respective company. Different types of HR policies are mention below.
Anti harassment policy – This policy is developed in order to minimize harassment
cases. Under this policy of Next Plc strict action will be taken against the person who
conduct or try to conduct harassment. It is responsibility for human resource team to
identify and investigate the case properly before taking any decision.
Health and safety policy – The motive of developing health and safety policy is to
provide healthy and safe working environment to employees (Kundu and Gahlawat,
2015). This HR policy is very helpful in resolving the issues related to health working
environment and condition of organisation. It is crucial for organisation to keep and
maintain safety and security of employees while they are performing business activities.

Compensation and benefit policy – This policy state that each and every employee is
liable to take benefits and compensation of their work. Employees are conducting
business activities in effective manner so it is their right to get benefit for their
performance. This HR policy includes that employee should get right pay for their work
and efforts (Mahmood and et. al., 2019).
Training and development policy – This HR policy of Next Plc company is developed
so that all employees and worker have accurate knowledge and understanding to conduct
their job role in better and accurate manner. Training and development policy lead to
increase the capability and performance of employees.
What are the different factors that helps an organisation in improvement of employee's job
satisfaction.
It is essential for respective company to analyse and evaluate different factors that is
helpful in enhancing employee job satisfaction. There are several factors that are supportive in
increasing job satisfaction of employees such as promotional opportunity, working environment,
fair policies, appreciation and many more. It is significance for Next Plc company to consider
these factors in improving job satisfaction. All those factors that will assist in improving level of
job satisfaction are mention below.
Reward and appreciation – It is crucial for Next Plc company to provide rewards to
employees on accomplishment of set objectives. Appreciation of the great work to
employees as well as providing rewards for their efforts will lead to motivate employees
and improve job satisfactions.
Promotional opportunities Next Plc company needs to provide promotional
opportunities to its employees as this factor will lead to increase job satisfaction.
Promotional opportunities will help in enhancing the level of employees performance as
they work hard for grabbing promotional opportunity (Choi and Lee, 2013). This factor
will lead to increase job satisfaction in employees of Next Plc company.
Positive working environment – It has been determined that employees will be more
motivated and happy in positive or friendly working environment. It is crucial for
organisation to provide health and positive working environment to employees so that
they can focus on their work and attain goals.
