INTRODUCTIONHuman resource management is the process of recruiting, hiring, selecting employees. Ithelps business to attain their competitive advantages in an effective manner (Anderson, 2013).Along with that, it is mainly concerned with the people management in company whichconcentrates on the various systems and policies. Recruitment, selection, training anddevelopment process, performance appraisal and rewards management like benefits or paysystems are provided to employees by HR department. The main purpose of HR is to ensure thatthe company is able to achieve success at higher level. This assignment is divided in 2 partswherein 1st is based on Chocola Fantastica which is one of the best rapidly growing organisationand situated in South Wales. with that it deals with tailor-made chocolates within the UK. 2nd isMicrosoft which is famous organisation and provide computer software, computers etc.moreover, discussion will be based on purpose or functions of HRM analyse by strength orweakness of several approaches to recruitment or selection. After this, key elements of HRMwith internal or external factors influencing decision making process will get covered. At last,human resource practices in work related context will get discussed. TASK 1P1 Purpose & Functions of HRM, applicable to workforce planning & resourcing anorganisation.Human resource management is generally used to analyse both people who are workingin the company and department who has responsibility for managing overall resources in relationwith employees. Along with that HRM is the combination of different aspects such as selecting,hiring and recruiting for an effective job profile within the industry. According to the presentscenario every organisation has different kinds of job vacancies and job role for aspirants. So thatpeople can get effective job opportunities as per their choice. In relation with Chocola Fantasticathey are properly using HR policies or systems to gain competitive advantages (Armstrong andTaylor, 2014). Employees are also able to give their better performance in such activities whichis run by this respective organisation for betterment of future. Apart from this there are lots ofpurpose, function and importance of company in regards with HRM, those are mentioned inbeneath: 1

Purpose of HRM:The main purpose of HRM is to conduct training and development programmes foremployees in order to maximise their overall working performance appropriately. By conductingthese sort of programmes an organisation can achieve their desired goals. Functions of HRM:Recruitment and Selection: The scope of these functions are very wide and it generallyconsist different kinds of operations and resources which considered as the most essential assetsof an organisation. Along with this, it makes better impact on the total revenue growth and profitmargins of a company. Therefore, it is very important function for restructuring the organisationand recruiting or selecting knowledgeable candidates who increases the overall firm'sproductivity. Apart from that, main purpose of this function is to recruit candidates and manageemployees to fulfil the hiring needs into the organisation. Training and Development: It is one of the better key of HR functions. At currentscenario most of the organisations are look at training and development programmes as anintegral part of HR development activities. Whereas, training is the change in attitude,knowledge or skills of a person. Along with that, development creates the job opportunities forpeople. Therefore, this is more essential to increase employees knowledge or skills for theirfuture growth. The purpose of this function is to make good knowledge with better position ofemployees within the organisation. Performance Appraisal: It refers to the continue process of review of an employee's jobperformance and effective contribution to an organisation. Along with that it determines theemployee's skills, knowledge, growth and achievements. Purpose of this function of HRM is togive effective feedback from the working performance of employees and increase their bonuseseffectively. Therefore, it is much essential for employees as it helps them to gain better positionin the working place also they make firms productive.
