INTRODUCTIONHuman resource management are managing of all resources and people in theorganization (Bratton and Gold, 2017). It includes a process that is planning, organizing, staffing,directing and controlling etc. Through applying of these functions company can easily satisfy thecustomers. Thus they can earn more revenues and they can also increase their market share. Thishelps them to easily expand and diversify the business. Project describes about the Thomsoncorporation which publishes books for many organizations. It was found in 1989 in U.K.Assignment explains about the purpose and scope of human resource management so that theycan easily accomplish the objectives. It also explains about the effectiveness of key factors ofpersonnel department in firm. It further describes about the internal and external factors whichcan influence human resource decisions such as employment legislation. It also explains aboutthe application of human resources in work related context. TASK 1P.1 Purpose and scope of HRMVarious functions are performed by the organization. It is crucial so that company caneasily accomplish their objectives. Thus goals of Thomas corporation are:Functions of HRM Operative functionsRecruitment: Firm uses various methods and processes so that they can select talentedworkers in the firm. Thus as a result they can easily perform well and thus Thomas corporationcan earn more revenues and hence they can also increase their market share. Training and development: Manager organizes various training seminars andprogrammes so that they can easily deliver suitable training to all employees. Thus workers caneasily publish their books and hence they can maintain good reputation in the market. Performance appraisal: Manager try to evaluate the performance of all staff members.They set targets for the employees ad hence then they monitor the performance of all workers.Through this they can give corrective actions to improve performance of workers. Managerial functionsPlanning: HR manager of Thomas corporation creates different policies and methods sothat they can manage all resources in the firm (Brewster, 2017). activities and hence they give instruction to all members so that staff members can easilyperform all tasks. Organizing: In this process all staff members are given various resources so that theycan perform different task in the firm (Brewster, Mayrhofer and Morley, 2016). Through thisthey can finish the activities in minimum time. Directing: In this manager motivates all staff members so that they can perform task inan efficient manner. Thus employees can manage all task in an effective manner and thus theycan give best results. Controlling: In this process manager can compare the actual with the standardperformance of all staff members. Thus they give corrective steps and relevant training so thatthey can easily accomplish their objectives. Purpose of HRM:Reduces employee turnover: HR manager deliver appropriate training to all employeesand also solve their issues. Through this steps they can easily enhance their performance. Thusthey do not leave their job. Reduces issues: HR manager tries to solve al issues and conflicts in the firm so that theycan perform better. Through thus all workers work with their full potential and zeal. Hence theygive superior results. Recruitment and termination: HR manager can use various methods to select talentedemployees and they can also terminate the employees. Both functions are important in thecompany.
