INTRODUCTION Human resource management plays an essential role in an organization, their mainconcerns is related to employees in respect of hiring, performance, training, compensation,safety, benefits, wellness and motivation. HRM department divide their functions in major twoparts such as managerial as well as operational functions (An, 2012). Through these humanresource management practices company able to conduct their work in effective manner thatleads to attainment of goal as well as objective properly. Organisation selected for this project isDyson which is a private organization founded by James Dyson in year 1991. It's headquarter issituated at Singapore. Products offering of respective company are vacuum cleaners, hard dryers,desk fans, hair dryers and many more. There are approx 1200 employees working in respectivecompany at worldwide level. Topics which are included in this report are purpose as well asfunctions of HRM and strength and weaknesses of recruitment and selection process. Along withthis, respective project will include benefits and effectiveness of HRM practices, importance ofemployee relation, key elements of employees legislation and it will also include applications ofHRM practices. TASK 1P1. Purpose and function of HRM.Human resource management department plays essential role in an organization becausethis department take care of resources and other elements which are required in order tocomplete work in effective manner. By adopting this Dyson able to conduct various activitiessuch as hiring, training, motivating, monitoring and so on. Along with this, its HRM conductvarious function and it is also effective for respective company, some of the major purpose andfunction are given below:- Purpose of HRM:-Staffing:In a firm main purpose of HRM department is to hire candidates according totheir requirement and vacant position (Larson and Gray, 2017). In order to accomplishthis purpose human resource manager of Dyson conduct analysis and identify whichdepartment required new or more candidates then accordingly they conduct hiringprocedure as well as select those employees which help them in attaining their objective.

Employee relations: It is very necessary for a firm to develop as well as maintain properemployees relations so that employees fell motivated. In respect of Dyson their employerconduct meeting on regular basis with their staffs in order to take ideas related to theirnew cleaning products design or function. Along with this they also conduct programmesin which each and every employees interact each other through it they able to maintainpositive working environment at workplace. Function of HRM:-Training and development:It is one of the main function of respective department andaccording to it they develop or design training programs according to need of employees(Donateandde, 2015). In respect of Dyson, its HR Manager conduct evaluation of skilland abilities of their employees and then develop training and development programsaccordingly. Through which staffs able to work in respective technology andmanufacturing company in effective way. Performance management: According to respective HRM function manager able toanalysis performance of employees and develop motivation activities accordingly. Inrespect of Dyson their HR manager conduct evaluation of employees performance so thatthey can develop activities which help in motivating employees. In regards of this theiremployer create various activities such as reward, appraisal, monetary benefits, involve inmeeting and so on. These function and purpose of HRM helps Dyson in attaining their objective as well astarget in effective manner. Along with this it will also motivate employees so that they conductwork properly. P2. Strengths and Weaknesses of various recruitment and selection approaches.There are various recruitment and selection procedure which can be adopted by companyaccording to their requirement. In respect to identify its effectiveness Dyson adopt method inwhich they evaluate their strength and weakness, which are mentioned below:- Selection approach:It refers to method in which HR manager generally conduct two method i.e. shortlistcandidates and assess applicants in order to decide which candidates is most appropriate for thevacant position or particular job (Smith, 2016). In order to conducting this method Dyson adoptseveral methods like face to face interview, group discussion and many more. But most
