All the activities that are done by“ASDA company” through developing an effective plans and strategies that will bring positiveoutcomes in near future. The project report is providing crucial information about importance toHRM and growth of the company. Apart from this, various methods and theories that are usefulin selection and recruitment procedure are discuss under this report. There are certain HRMpractices which can bring positive outcomes in term of profitability of company are explain inthis particular report. Few legislation those are associated with protecting right and benefits ofemployees are examine under this project TASK 1P1 Purpose and function of HRM use in workforce planningIn every business, whether operating as small and large need to have separate departmentwith the name of Human resource department. It is made with the motive to manage and controltheir daily operations in more effective manner (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). This would assistin determining organisational aims and objectives which are matches with the competencies ofemployees and staffs working for the purpose of attaining overall target of ASDA company. Asthis is supermarket retail store which is dealing in multiple products in West Yorkshire. Thereare certain effective objectives of HRM that are needed to be followed by company in theirregular business operations. Successful human resource department can create a perfect bridgeamong line management and company's total workforce. Some crucial objectives are:Helps in internal customer management: It has been found that HR has various keyobjectives. The productivity of the ASDA directly rests with capabilities of employees those areworking in this particular company. They are having positive relationship with companiesfinancial performance.Cultural sensitivity: HR management use to maintains cultural awareness. HRmanagement is routinely called upon to manage cultural differences that are arises in an

organisation. Selecting skilled employees would provide maximum chance of growth in nearfuture. Maximise productivity of an organisation: Human resources department is working asan essential tools for the company which would provide maximum chance of optimising theeffectiveness of their staffs and employees.Helps in performance management: In accordance with the oversight of anorganisation compensation program that lies down under the human resources programs. HRcoordinates performance management feedback and provide perfect guideline to manage overallresources of an organisation (Guest, 2011).Functions of HRM: Recruitment: It refers as an important process of selecting right candidates for right jobfor the more reliable post (Functions of HRM, 2018). This would considering appropriate skillsand knowledge which require for job designation that is being offered by company to numerouspeople. Relation with employee: In accordance to any business operations, the HR department isresponsible for creating harmonious relationship among employees and other staffs those areworking in an organisation. In the ASDA supermarket, the employees belong to various cultureand background so it is difficult to manager them. The role of HR management is to join togetherto make proper communication among them. Training and development: In every organisation, it has been seen that maximumpeople are not able to perform their jobs in appropriate manner. Such kind of issue are arisesbecause of not having right kind of training facilities to them. The role of HR department toprovide appropriate training and development to them so that more effective outcomes can begenerate in more reliable manner. Compliance: It is an essential aspect for ASDA company to make use of HR policies andstrategies in their daily business operations so that chances of mistakes can be reduced. Adoptingpolicies would allows managers in order to support employees and provide right and lawfulconsideration in case any misconduct is being determine in an organisation (Briscoe, Tarique andSchuler, 2012).
