Introduction Business operations include several tasks which need a platform for the completion. ICT or information communication and technology provides such a platform so that these operations can be accomplished efficiently. Courier Business involves management of information in a very specific and requires high security to the personal information of the customers. ICT develops an advanced environment for the company so that it can progress and compete in the market with other competitors (Andreopoulou, et-al, 2014). There are several platforms such as online website and application to manage the information. Kazmi (2015) stated that ICT provides advanced opportunities and innovation for the existing platforms in addition to the future possibilities of innovation (pp-31-32). Role of information and communication technologies The courier company involves several operations of delivery the order that is associated with the respected customers. Van, Gijselaers and Milter (2012 ) stated that ICT is involved in almost every department of the company and makes the operation to happen efficiently (pp. 1-4). The basic operation it involves are managed, access, store, process, share and retrieve the data from the applied platform. The operation involves the work the department such as administration, accounts, communication channel, customer relationships and management of the information. ICT platform provides stakeholder’s information to be managed effectively. This emerges the requirement of the database which helps in processing of the information. Account section involves all the information related to the payment of the orders paid by the customer and it involves handling of the invoice also. In addition to this, Ghani (2015) found that there is a requirement of proper communication between the different employees of the company such as sharing of invoice details (p- 24-25). ICT also involves the specific features of handling the customers with the help of online assistance and best example of online assistance is online chat or call. Rusko (2012) found that ICT enhances the customer experience which directly increases the number of customers associated with the company (pp.25-34). Customer needs to be satisfied with the services provided by the company. Some of the tasks involve the fulfilment of security aspects. Value of information to an organization Information needs to be processed in every operation of the business and that is why it is required to manage effectively. The information related to the courier company are order data, destination data, customer details, product details, transportation details and So on. ICT provides sustainable strategies that can be implemented for the company in
order to provide a platform which can manage all these information. The data from the database can be used for a further requirement or for the follow up of the customer. Conclusion Business sector is deploying the ICT at a faster rate due to its advantages of adding growth to the company. It manages the information in a more secure way such that many breaches and threats can be restricted it the outer level of the associated platform. Role of the ICT is specific to the company and provides its presence at the global level.
