EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report involves the use the WHS policies and procedures in the organisation so that
proper working environment can take place in the organisation. It involves various risk control
measures which will help in reducing the risk factors in the organisation. It also involves various
WHS training which will helps in providing the knowledge to the organisation regarding the
safety measures which they have to considered to maintain healthy working environment in the
organisation. Role of PCBU is also discussed in this report to maintain health and safety
legislation. Different legal responsibilities of the workers are also mentioned which should
followed by the workers under act.

INTRODUCTION
WHS stands for Work health and Safety it is an act which helps in ensuring safety in the
workplace so that healthy working environment can take place in the organisation. WHS is also
known as occupational health safety. This act provides health and safety to people who
connected with the organisation like customers, suppliers, visitors, employees etc. maintaining
safety in the workplace is very important it helps in enhancing the performance of the business.
There are various benefits of WHS act it helps in improving the productivity of the business by
reducing the chances of illness and injuries in the organisation. It also helps in ensuring safe use
of machinery and other resources so that chances of injuries can be eliminated. It guides the
employees so that proper safety can take place. Organisation has to follow this law so that
performance of the business cannot get affected and more revenue can be generated in the
business (Brooks, 2019).
Woolworths is the biggest supermarket chain in Australia it was founded in 1924 and managed
by Woolworths group. This organisation deals in groceries items but also sells other products
like DVDs, magazines, beauty products etc. due to which its demand is high as compared to
other organisation. It also has its online websites which helps in increasing the profit of the
business in the market. This organisation provides variety of goods and services to the customer
so that overall profit of the business can be increased in the market. In this report it will be
analysed that how WHS act helps in maintaining a healthy environment in the organisation.

WHS policies helps in maintaining safe working environment in the organisation. WHS
policies involves Risk assessment, maintaining safe use of equipments, providing supervision,
information and guidance to the employees, proper work staff training, providing first aid,
mental ill heath etc. WHS procedures helps in fulfilling the policies which is given by the WHS
by providing proper guidance to the staff members it helps in ensuring the proper management in
the organisation by fulfilling the policies of the WHS so that performance of the business cannot
get affected. The main motive of WHS programs is to protect the employees and the staff
members of the organisation from different hazards which can affect their health. Woolworths is
