2PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Project Background
In this project, the manual operations in the ABC Ltd. is proposed to be replaced by
automated system along with the implementation of information technology. For this purpose,
information system will be implemented in the organisation that includes purchase and
installation of workstations, installation of ERP and other relevant software, subscription to
cloud server and others. The implementation of ERP will help to solve a significant number of
operational issues for the organisation that generally arise due to the manual handling and
operations (Kerzner 2017). In addition to operational issues, there are also problems regarding
the storage and management of all the business related data. Currently, the organisation utilises
manual data entry in paper documents and these paper document records are stored is respected
files. With time, these files and the documents get damaged and often, important business
records are destroyed. With the new ERP based information system, these problems can easily be
solved as the entire business data entry and management processes will be migrated into the
cloud server instead of using paper documents.
In this report, a project plan has been developed for the implementation of information
system including a complete ERP package for ABC Ltd.
Project Scope
The primary scope of the project involves implementation of the information system in
the organisation. The secondary scope includes installation of computers and various software
that will be useful for automating the entire system including enhancement of performances,
inventory tracking and others (Heagney 2016).
