INTRODUCTION
Organisational effectiveness shows how effectively a company achieves its
predetermined objectives or output. This can be defined as if an organisation attain is desired
targets by creating minimum waste of human resources, time, money, energy and material
resources. Effectiveness of an organisation is measured by attainment of goals without wastage
of company's valuable resources. Net profitability is compared with target profitability to
measure effectiveness of organisation also some additional measures such as growth data,
customer satisfaction surveys can also be included for evaluation of organisational effectiveness.
In this report organisational effectiveness of Junction Hotel is critically evaluated on basis of
various issues organisation is facing.
MAIN BODY
Rational organisational design and bureaucracy in organisational effectiveness
Rational organisational design was introduced by Max Weber, a German scientist, this is
a bureaucratic method of management that helps in accenting efficiency of organisation to
achieve goals and targets. Hierarchical structure of an organisation and multiple layers of system
and process in organisation defines bureaucracy of company (Eldor, 2017). According to Weber
bureaucracy is highly structured and formalized organisation. This model suggests that an
organisation must have a well-defined hierarchical structure to define rules, regulations and level
of authority. Junction hotel can use 6 main principles of Max Weber's bureaucracy theory which
are described further.
Employment based technical qualification: According to this principles employees of
organisation should be promoted and selected on basis of technical skills. These skills provide an
employee efficiency of work and improve work design in company.
Functional speciality organisation: Specialists in work should do the work. This
principle suggests to diversify employees according to their abilities and employees who possess
skill or ability to do work should be assigned that work.
A Formal hierarchical structure: At Junction Hotel bureaucratic organisation is
applied, so according to this structure every level is controlled by level above it. Multiple layer
of control and management defines bureaucratic structure of an organisation. Centralized
