Executive summary
This report intends to discuss the information system and their importance in the
organisations. The chosen organisation for analysis is the Accenture where the Management
information system is used for enhancing the business processes. The considered company,
Accenture is the global management firm of consulting and the professional services that
offers the consulting, strategy, technology and the operational services. The company offers
the business strategy, operations strategy and the technology strategy services. It also offers
the services of business, technology and the management consulting ("Accenture | New
insights. Tangible outcomes. New Applied Now", 2019). The role of the information in the
organisations is briefly discussed in this report. The risks that are faced by the organisation
are briefly stated in this report and the risks of the information system are briefly described in
this report. The mitigation strategies of the risks that are faced in the organisation is briefly
provided in this report. Lastly, this report concludes with an appropriate conclusion for the
report.

Introduction
This report aims to discuss the role of the information system in the companies. The
chosen information system is the Management information and the chosen organisation is the
Accenture organisation. A brief discussion of the definition of the information is provided in
this report. The role of the information in the organisations is briefly discussed in this report.
The risks that are faced by the organisation are briefly stated in this report and the risks of the
information system are briefly described in this report. The mitigation strategies of the risks
that are faced in the organisation is briefly provided in this report. Lastly, this report
concludes with an appropriate conclusion for the report.
Information system could be defined in the terms of two viewpoints, which are related
to the function of the information system and the other one related to the structure of the
information system (Sherman et al., 2014). Any information system could be defined
technically as the collection of the interrelated components that gathers or even retrieves,
store, process and then distribute the information for supporting the decision making and the
control in any organisation.
Discussion
Definition of information system
As it has been discussed by several researchers, that the information could be
understood by the two viewpoints. From the functional point of view, the information system
is the medium that is technologically implemented and intends to serve the purpose of
storing, recording and then disseminating the linguistic expressions and for supporting the
inference making (Khormi & Kumar, 2014). From the structural point of view, the
information systems comprises of the collection of individuals, data, models, processes,
technology and partially the formalised language, and creates the cohesive structure that
