Introduction
Ryan Aviation Description

INFORMATION SYSTEMS ANALYSIS & DESIGN
2
The Ryan Aviation is a company started in the 2017, has the goals to improve the market
of charted helicopters flights in the field of mining and rescue operations situations such as bush
fires in Australia. They have been collaborated with the government organizations in the recent
years for the rescue operations. They wanted to upgrade their system by enabling the online
booking for their customers along with the time schedules of the required services. The desired
system is supposed to have an automated system for allocation, time management, report
generation and payroll of their staffs according to their flight hours.
Objective and Methodology
The aim of the report is to develop the desired system’s modelling which includes use
case modeling, Data flow diagrams, ERD and Web Design as prototype for Ryan Aviation
System. The report discusses the modelling, steps, functionalities of the web design along with
the CRUD diagram for the system. The chosen approach for the development is UML (Unified
Modelling Language) based and Structural analysis based (ERD) for the backend of the system.
Report Outline
The report discusses the critical use case identification from the case study, Context
Level Diagram and Level – 0 Data Flow Diagram to represent the functionalities of the system.
Later the ERD and CRUD diagram shows the required attributes and data elements for system
implementations. Lastly the report concludes with the architecture of the website design and
prototype.

Use Case
Identification of use cases
The use case represents the process in a system which help in developing the design of
the desired system. The use case depends on the initiators, processes, conditions and
assumptions. On the basis of the business process of Ryan Aviation the use case identified are
described below:
1. Signup: The customer signs up in the system in order to access the services. If the
customer is already registered then he or she only needs to login.
2. Login: The customer logs in the system using user credentials. It allows the customer to
gain access for booking and other services from the system.
3. Flight management: The System is capable of creating, storing, updating and deleting
the flight details along with their maintenance.
4. Fight scheduling: The system is also responsible for scheduling the aircraft flights for
the bushfire and any other service bookings.
5. Allocate staff: The system allocates the pilots and support staff to the each schedules. It
no of support staff depends on the type of service.
6. Check flight availability: The customer can check the availability for availability of the
aircrafts for a booking. System is also capable of checking and storing the availability of
the aircrafts.
7. View aircraft details: The user can check the details of the selected aircrafts which are
the capacity, rating and license etc.
8. View pilot details: The user can also checks the pilot details which are rating, level,
skills etc.

9. Booking: The Customer can make booing for a aircraft provided by a date time and
service.
10. Pay: The customer pays for the selected aircraft based on the services and relief
resources.
11. Tracking resources: The system is capable of accessing the track of available resources
with their details.
12. Billing: The system automatically generates the bills and payment for the customers and
staffs both on the basis of orders and the flight hours of the staffs.
13. Produce reports and dump: The systems generates the report on the basis of the
bookings and services. Lastly, the reports can be dumped into the flat files.

Use Case Diagram
With the help of the identified use cases, a use case diagram is developed below. It
represents the user, staff and system as actors of the system along with the processes as use
cases. The main objective of the system is to interact with the user for booking aircrafts
according to their needs and system should be smart enough to automate some of the
