INTRODUCTIONThe term information technology is concerned with the tools and techniqueswhich are used in businesses for the purpose of sending, storing, handling andrecovering the different kinds of information and data. It consist of certain hardware andsoftware which are used by the business organisations in order to manage and operatedifferent range of business processes. There are various methods like using the websitefor promoting the respective goals and objectives. It also makes use of variouspresentations in order to make proper and colourful aspects. Apart from this, in presentbusiness world the organisations are highly dependent on the use of technology andwithout this, they cannot operate effectively and efficiently. The selection of an appropriate referencing is a quiet challenging work. And thisneeds to be selected appropriately because for the better functioning and operations ofthe company. References are important to be cited because to provide evidences to thereader that proper research has been done on specific topic by way of listing different

sources in order to get information. It will provide the responsible scholar by givingactual and correct scholar by providing credit and acknowledging the ideas. By doingthis, the chances of plagiarisms has been eradicated by quoting different words andideas which are to be used by other authors. This reference is placed at the bottom ofthe report either in footnote or within the heading of reference list. Apart from the above analyses, the referencing plays a vital role in enhancing thecontribution of other writers and researcher in the suitable work and actions. It helps inproviding the credit to the writers from whom the words has been borrowed. This assistin claiming the assertions and facts which are presented by the employees. By makinguse of citation, it depicts that the user is informed and aware of the industry in whichthey are operating (Webster, 2014). They are always required to be accurate andenable the reader to trace the sources of information which has been used in therespective content or information. When the user is emphasising on listing thereferences or works which has been cited, the most crucial thing which is required to becited is to remember that the business objectives has to be made easy for readers sothat they can easily consult to the different sources. The Harvard referencing style is the popular style which has been used forcitations in the documents. It is normally used by the university students in order to citethe information sources. In this, there are two types of citations namely, in text citationsand reference lists. In text citations are used by the organisations when there is a directquoting or paraphrasing a source. They are generally visible in the main work.
