Team work is another important aspect in this concern where the planned way of execution can contribute towards the aims and objectives of the process prioritizing the unique and useful characteristics of all members. This paper describes and examines the role of healthcare staff and leaders to implement innovative work practices considering the organizing principles for initiating innovation. For the discussion of innovation and its implementation the pulsar innovation concept has been chosen. Pulsara innovation: Pulsara is a health consultancy and service provider organization that implemented a new strategic innovation to improve the service quality in the emergency department especially for STEMI and stroke patient. Recently Pulsara has implemented their innovation in 9 states of US and in Australia while successfully reducing the treatment time and increasingaccuracyby10%to46%.Forthisrevolutionaryinnovativeplanningand implementation the organization has received several national and international awards (Staff, 2018). Using Echocardiogram or ECG by Emergency Medical Staffs or EMS in emergency department is the core process of implementing their innovation. Apart from that, improvementin capturingthe registrationand billinginformation,reducecostly false activation,reducelengthofstayarethemajorstrategicpracticeinthisinnovative implementation.
3CONCEPT MAP ON INNOVATION Roles of leaders: Leadership plays an important role in innovation management and implementation while the organization has efficient workforce to execute the innovative process successfully. One of the major roles of the leader is implementation of change management that is also significant for encouraging and motivating the staffs towards new practices. Recognizing the staffs by their ability in emergency situation considering the competence level in operating different advance medical equipments is also important to allot them for specific task (Kaya, Turan & Aydın, 2015). At the same time building and promoting the collaborative and corporative working environment is essential for a successful leader. The leader needs to aware all the subordinate staffs about their role and responsibilities of the Emergency Medical Services and how those are helpful to achieve the objectives of implementing the new innovative practice. An implementation procedure of innovation needs multiple level monitoring and controlling entity where leaders are the closest controller of the work practices. Above all, a appropriate leadership needs more in depth knowledge about the changed process that allows the leaders to be a perfect example in Emergency Department (Porter-O'Grady & Malloch, 2015). Roles of staffs: Ground level employees namely doctors, nurses, caregivers and facility providers determine the feasibility of the innovative idea by achieving the designated objectives within the stipulated period (Remus & Kennedy, 2012). Abiding by the regulation of new work practices is also essential. Apart from that the health staffs namely doctors, nurses, caregivers and facility providers should maintain a healthy and friendly environment in the workplace which would also improve the quality of work by supporting and motivating the employees. Organizing the innovation initiatives: Organizing the initiatives for the innovation emphasize on a group of interconnected procedures considering the effective synchronizing the attributes of the success parameters. Involving direct and indirect regulators affects the process of organizing the stakeholders to implement initiatives (Remus & Kennedy, 2012). In healthcare or any other social care environment prioritizing all stakeholders in decision making process is essential. Aligning the new working procedure of ED (Emergency Department) with the core organizational values and policies should be most essential concern. Another part of the organizing process in standardizing that defines the benchmarking procedure that is useful to scale the performance level of the Emergency Medical Staffs and the whole Emergency Department. Conclusion: From the above description it can be said that teamwork is one of the most important aspect in this implementation of Pulsara innovation, where the planned way of execution can contribute towards the aims and objectives of the process prioritizing the unique and useful characteristics of all members. Both leaders and healthcare staffs including Doctors, nurses, caregivers and facility providers determine the feasibility of the innovative idea by achieving the designated objectives within the stipulated period. Organizing the implementation by performing necessary initiation considering the benchmarking process and standardization for all the employees is essential to implement the Pulsara innovation.
