Introduction
Inter professional education refers to the approach of developing health care students in
future professional team players. These interpersonal education members can address the
complex issues of medical in health and social care (Morgan, Pullon & McKinlay, 2015). These
team players are essential for the future time period in order to enhance the patient’s doctor’s
outcomes. This report will discuss what Inter professional Collaborative Practice involves and
how this approach can be used for optimizing the Mr. Henderson’s care at the present time and in
the immediate future. This report will also identify the benefits of interpersonal approach as a
student Registered Nurse participating in Mr. Henderson’s care.
TASK 1
Inter professional Collaborative Practice
Inter professional collaborative practice refers to the method of improving the patients
doctors outcomes by developing the medical students into future professionals who can perform
their work with the required efficiency and care. This approach is very useful for the medical
professionals in developing the present students through appropriate training and development
programs. These training and development programs are very helpful in improving the
performance of medical professional through which they can extra motivate themselves. Through
the training, they can prepare themselves for the future implications so that they can handle them
in an effective manner. There are several models of this approach which are used by the medical
professionals and students for improving the skills of subordinates.
According to Ryan M. Butler, (2017) Academic-Practice Inter professional Education
Model is a very useful framework for the medical professionals for the development of
teamwork strategies and processes so that the communication among the medical students and
members can be enhanced. This model is also useful in clarifying the roles and responsibilities to
the team members in an effective manner. The inter professional collaborative practice model
states that the relationship among the patient, student teams, out-patient clinic staff etc. should be
maintained for getting the desirable and improved outcomes. The relationship developed by the
interprofessional clinical staff is useful in leading a specific plan for improving the treatment
given by them to the patients (A Collaborative Academic-Practice Interprofessional Education
Model: Overcoming the Barriers and Coaching Student Teams, 2017). This model illustrates the
patient as the focus of healthcare delivery and as the pivotal link between the professional

healthcare teams at the outpatient clinics and the student team. This model is very useful to use
for the medical professionals and students in improving the standard of the treatment provided by
them to patients as effective relationship has been established by the inter professionals. These
inter professionals should communicate with each other and with patients so that effective and
collaborative treatment can takes place for improving the level of care and treatment (World
Health Organization, 2013). This model is important to use for the medical students in improving
their learning so that they can develop themselves for handling the future challenges of the health
and social care sector. However limitation of this model is that time can be consumed in
determining the needs and concerns of patients for forming effective relationship which can slow
the treatment process.
Discuss how this approach would optimize Mr. Henderson’s care in present and future
Mr. Henderson was bought in by ambulance to the hospital after following Mountain
Biking accident at where the bike crashed with tree. He was unconscious when the medical team
arrives at the scene. The ribs, wrist, and ankle of Mr. Henderson were broken along with the
open tibula/fibula fracture. When Mr Henderson was handover to morning staff, he was not in a
good situation. When his mother and father inquired about him from the doctors, they did not
disclosed the information to them and the mother said that that patient should not be given any
blood products as he is Jehovah’s Witness (Bridges & et. Al., 2011). The doctors questioned to
patient about the mother’s information and the patient said no. When asked about his parents to
come in room, he becomes critical due to the stress and tension. Through the approach of Inter
professional collaborative practice, the medical students and experts can handle such situation
with care and professionalism so that the patients do not feel bad and stressed. This approach is
very useful for medical professionals in improving the mental condition of Mr. Henderson so
that they can take better and proper decisions.
TASK 2
Two benefits as a student Registered Nurse participating in Mr. Henderson’s care when an Inter
professional approach to health care is undertaken
There are various benefits of using inter professional practice in the health care which has
been seen by me in treating Mr. Henderson. Two of these benefits are as follows:
 First benefit was of the effective coordination between the doctors and family of Mr.
Henderson. This was seen when the family of the patient was communicating with the

RM for telling about the Jehovah’s Witness. The doctors took it seriously and asked to
patient regarding the clarification in order to avoid any medical issue (Khalili, Hall &
DeLuca,2014). This was proved very beneficial for the medical team in treating the
patient with utmost care. I learn that coordination is very important with the family and
medical practitioners in order to effectively treating the patients for getting desired
performance and outputs.
 The doctors handled the situation so easily even after such much damage to patients
which can’t happen if effective communication does not exist between them. I get to
know the value of effective communication which is very essential among the medical
practitioners. Through effective communication, medical practitioners effectively
interacted in providing the essential l and required information to other doctors who are
operating or treating.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above report that the Inter professional collaborative
practice is very beneficial for the patients and doctors in improving the medical outputs. Through
this practice, the medical professionals can understand the medical and physical problems of the
patients so that proper care and treatment is provided to them in future time period. There are
different benefits of using this practice in the working of medical experts so that they can avoid
any issue and challenges in providing the treatment to the patients.
