Executive Summary:
George Weston Food Limited with its strong brand presence both in Australia and in New
Zealand with its large scale business operation intends to make it bigger by expanding it to
international market and entering the Indian food industry. Thus, the project intends to highlight
on the basic consideration and strategic marketing techniques that the firm needs to consider for
making a successful market entry in the global economy. Varied social, political, legal and
environmental aspects needs to be considered that would in turn affect the entry strategy of the
brand.

Introduction:
George Weston Food ranks amongst the largest consumer product company in Australia.
Diversification is the key principle of this company which is a wholly owned subsidiary of
Associated British Foods Plc. The main products under its name can be classifies into varied
divisions like: a baking division which is rather the most significant and renowned for its quality
and service. The baking division is located in Australia and New Zealand and has of the most
significant brands of bakery products under its control like Tip Top, Burgen, Ploughmans Bakery
and "Two Hands", Golden, Noble Rise and Bazaar. The maximum of bakery products sold and
consumed in New Zealand is of George Weston Food, apart from this they have a cereform
division selling cake and baking pre-mixes, DON-KRC division which is responsible for the
production and distribution of fresh and packed goods like ham, salami, bacon and fresh
sausages. George Weston Food ltd has extended in the cleaning and industry chemical
manufacturing division as well with their Jasol division and the retain company is making it
bigger and better across 46 countries with an employee strength of over 100000. Thus, this
project will specifically deal with analyzing and identifying the key business strategies of the
company, identifying its potentials and innovative ways of tapping new market segments
particularly the Indian market and how exactly the business expansion model of this small
medium enterprise should be designed to be effective and beneficial in the long run
