INTRODUCTION
International management is defined as monitoring, planning and controlling the
organisation that conduct business in local as well as international market. International
management require skills, knowledge and potential capabilities to perform work beyond the
local market. With understand of culture, value, ethics and laws of a particular nation it is easy to
complete all work in multi-national market (Caballero, 2015). This report is written from
perspective of TESCO that operate their operations and functions in retail sector. In present
scenario, TESCO operate their supermarket, hypermarket and stores in global market. Moreover,
this report highlights on expatriate failure specifically towards culture adjustment. In last, report
will also focus on factors that contribute towards the notion of globalised economy
demonstrating awareness about ethical sound and international policies.

A) Discussion on factors related with expatriate failure and key concept to overcome from
challenges
According to present market business are performing their operations and functions
according to global or international industry. Expatriate failure is defined as a term that is used
for encompass different issue due to which return on investment is prevent. Culture aspects in
TESCO formulate challenges for management as diversity among workplace and in market is
complex to manage because non-involvement of culture value in organisation. This refers that
TESCO face challenges related with society and culture because top authorities are in favour of
local market and workforce only. Early return, underperformance and adjustment problems are
some issue due to which expatriate failure take place. Both industry and destination face
different expatriate failures. Apart from this, Globalisation provide similar platform to all
organisation whether, they are small or large. With the study of different phenomenon related
with culture shock and their influence on expatriates deploy different factors related with world.
Expatriate face and experience culture shock and deal with it on daily basis (Covin and Miller,
2014). There are different factors relates with expatriates such as length of time, reason of travel,
goal of journey etc. Expatriate usually pass six months to five years at a place. The motive of
such individuals is to learn from the place and than return to their home country for surviving life

with a motive and purpose. TESCO management identify reason that relates with expatriate
crisis some of them are discuss as below:
Failed assignment due to premature return of expatriates- Lack of cross culture
adjustments by the family members and spouse is the major reason which is stated among
studies related with failure of expatriates. Poor performance among assessment or project
role is generate due to the low understanding of culture values. Another major reason that
is related with international assessment failure define challenges as it is complex to
obtain satisfaction from jobs. TESCO perform work as a MNC that manage business
among different locations that exists at global level. So directly or indirectly cost for
organisation is increased because training is required by Expatriate to understand work
performance and their role in company (Díaz-Fernández, González-Rodríguez and
Simonetti, 2015).
Repatriation agreement- Assignment are completed successfully after the repatriation
of planning as the time of expatriate also relates with overseas program. Repatriation
agreement is consider between employee's and employer. TESCO generate agreement
that match and manage workforce goals along with company requirements. The elements
of repatriation agreement is to involve an include provision that is related with specific
period of time. But from expatriate person they are not involved or dedicated towards the
goals of company because the last factor of expatriate is to return home. It diverse
expatriate to work according to agreement and company goals.
Repatriation programs- Effectiveness of a repatriation program define the ability for
addressing the queries that is related with the personal aspects of individuals. In the
context of TESCO expatriates most of the repatriation questions are based on knowledge
which is acquired from responsiveness phase of organisation crisis. Programmes are
crucial for demonstrating success because they represent job related success factors

Time to adjust- Culture shock and positive aspects for homesick is normal all
expatriates experience a period that is complex to understand. In the present scenario,
there are various challenges faced by expatriate person because of large differences
among individuals. TESCO motivate workforce specifically expatriate through providing
time to adjust for understanding the company performance. Accountable aspect work as
a positive factor that leads TESCO to motivate workforce for completion of task in an
organised manner (Hohenstein, Feisel and Hartmann, 2014). The main reason for
providing time to expatriate by TESCO is to overcome from problem of cross-culture
challenge because more time provide aspects for analysing and engaging culture of

and the cause for not achieving success is poor preparation and planning to enter into
globalisation aspect. With understanding the behaviour of workforce this is identified
that various difficulties is faced such as TESCO authorities is more focused towards
local workforce it results that expatriate are demotivated. Therefore, to overcome from
culture factors management also offer opportunity to expatriate to perform all work at a
similar platform. Another issue to gain focus of expatriate is undertaken by management
with preparing aspects is to prepare and orientate workforce to complete work according
to decide strategy and agreement. So expatriate and TESCO both are benefited by the
management in managing work.

included among the multi-national mode of international organisation. Parent country
national and Host country nationals are two different methods of workforce (Lee and et.
al., 2015). TESCO minimise the culture related challenges by handling and controlling
different provision which is used to reside abroad and manage provisions as per country
requirement. TESCO reduce the problems by answering all question of expatriates. This
refers that person perform their role with transparent and fair basis through
understanding answer of all questions.

place. As per current situation, the process of globalisation is an ongoing method that is
including individuals, resources and organisation at a same place. TESCO is earning profits by
generating sales in their local market and also from beyond national section. It also leads
management to understand culture of various country. A different number of opportunities and
trade barrier are reduced by performing work through the globalisation aspects. Modern business
practices, culture and value all are relate with global economy (Moore, 2020). Example- TESCO
offer local country products in their stores for managing competition with local stores of country.
This results that increase in interdependences of MNC on each other induce world economics to
become reliant on each other.
Expatriate person perform their work in international market for managing task with fresh
and unknown region. This is used by management to understand new culture with the type of
changing and introducing efforts as it help for explore different resources which leads TESCO to
complete task with more efficiency. Along with this country are developing with rapid speed so
foreign investment is an important perspective to enter into economy of market. MNC such as
TESCO provide required resources to country because it helps in managing work as per
globalised economy (Mustak and et. al., 2016). This also refers that by explaining about
globalisation concept as it help to manage ideas related with increment. It also represent different
factors that is used to manage international policies to perform work for offering support as per
globalisation aspect.

notion that induce increment related with global economy is to integrate foreign
technology among business. Development of technology factor increase in information
