emergency response, health service support,
community health and hygiene related services
Their work globally is understood from various
actions taken by them to treat people in
different parts of the world. For example, they
were the leading organization who took response
regarding increasing number of Ebola in the
Democratic Republic of the Congo (International

Contribution to the Common
Good
The emergency response action of the IMC is one of the
factors that can demonstrate fulfilment of common good.
Their commitment to provide full support during humanitarian
crisis is an example of common good as they provide
vulnerable people the right to live and enjoy basic rights like
all other groups (Hammersley, 2017). They have an
emergency assessment team committed to identify
assessment needs and provide adequate support
(International Medical Corps, 2019)
IMC has advocates for the health of the underserved
community. This is understood from the role of IMC in
implementing innovative approach to improve mental health
care in the Middle East. They have collaborated with other
agencies to share innovative method of supporting
vulnerable communities. Their case management model has
helped in maintaining the continuum of care (International

IMC is helping in creating a just community by being the first
respondent to help those in needs. During natural disasters,
they make sure to reach as early as possible and in this way,

As a nurse, my professional skills of
therapeutic communication and values of
advocacy and respecting needs and dignity of
patient can help me to fulfil the mission of IMC
in improving lives of people and promoting
health of underserved communities. In
addition, my practical skills of basic human
care, skills to treat people with special needs
and professional accountability will help me
to contribute to the organization.
By balancing individual dignity and respect, I
willl be able to contribute to goals of common
good for the organization and maintain
societal integrity and distributive justices.
By getting engaged with IMC, I can engage in
risk reduction during humanitarian crises by
working with the disadvantaged groups and
giving appropriate triage related care. My
ongoing training and practical experience will
help in delivering acute response and
promoting recovery of people affected by
natural disasters. By engaging in systematic
assessment of clients, I will be able to
effectively handle emergency and disaster
situations.
