number is increasing year by year.

Overall Greece has a capacity to provide 352,000 rooms to the people who are coming
Greece for visit or travel. There are small rooms and large complex available for rent across
the country in order to welcome the guests. All complexes are recently renovated and
equipped with modern facilities. This includes 340 camping sites, more than 30000 stays and
2500 small houses which are operating under GNTO.
There are five types of accommodation across the country.
 Hotels: which has been categorized in different sections targeting different people such as
standard, traditional guest house, resorts and agro tourist stay
 Rooms are available for rent for individual or a family.
 Different types of Apartments are available for rent for visitors
 Several kinds of tourist residences and villas which has self-catering stay for an
individual, couple or a family. These holiday homes are available in various sizes and at
different location as per comfort level of tourists.

 Camping activities are conducted throughout Greece and these camps are being operated
under the inspection of Greece government and G.N.T.O. seal. The arrangements of tents,
caravans, small and big bungalows are to be provided by GNTO. These places can be
booked by tourisms agencies also.
 Youth hostels are one of the hotels for those who are going for solo trips or trips with
friends.

The economic impact of GDP from tourism at the destination
A total of 33 million people visited destinations in Greece in 2018, generating more than
16 billion Euros in revenues and breaking all performance records to date (statista.com, 2019).
Tourism sector in Greece has been growing rapidly and contributing big amount to GDP
of a country with the support of Greek national tourism organization. It has given employment to
many sectors across the city of Athens. in the 2018, over 16 billion Euros are being earned due to
tourism (maniatis, 2019). Moreover it has created more than 459000 jobs in Greece in the year of
2017 and approx 600000 jobs in the year of 2018 (gtp.gr, 2018) .

Several key tourism attraction at the destination
The place offers sunshine, seafood, whitewashed houses along with relaxed and Zorba
lifestyle. Moreover, it has some wonderful beaches and exotic locations with world’s greatest
ancient monuments (greece-is.com, 2017).
There are list of places to be visited in Greece. Here the report includes top 10 places
which are most attractive once amongst all. Greek island is having wonderful beaches for
vacation, ancient ruins to visit, and active volcanoes around it. It is considered as world’s top
tourist destination.
Athens is basically known as the cradle of ancient civilization and birthplace of
democracy. It has a combination of historic view and modern facilities. It is famous for night
life, culture and trading. Crete is a spacious island covered with dotted olives trees. The beach
resorts and coffee shops are one of those attractive places in Athens. Meteora is a village situated
on the mountain at 1200 feet. It is known as a place suspended in the air. Delphi is a most
famous archaeological site in Greece. It is located at a distance of 2 and half hour from Athens.
Peloponnese is a beach, shaped like large leaf and connected to Rio-Antirrio bridge. Again
Halkidiki is a city having wonderful and peaceful beaches. Zagori region is similar to any hill
station having natural beauty and the place is surrounded by mountains. Thessaloniki is
considered as Greece’s second-largest city and famous for nigh life and social events. Cape
Sounion is known for Greek temples, three sides of this temple is covered by sea (n.a, 2018).
No. of International Tourist Arrivals and their origin
The Greek National Tourism Organization has reported that Greece has welcomed almost
32 million visitors in the year of 2018 and expecting to welcome doubled numbers in upcoming
year. The highest international visitors would belong to the United States. The country has
broken all the records till date. The number of tourists has suddenly increased to 32 million from
6 million in a decade (greekcitytimes.com, 2019).

Based on the graph we can see that the international arrival has drastically increased in
Greece. In the year of 1995 the international arrival was 4.1 million where as in 1998, it was 6.2
million. The rate was doubled in 2005 and reached to 15 million approx. Moreover, between
2005 to 2010, the numbers were stable and were 15 million only. Then it has started growing
drastically and reached to 22 million, 23 million, 24 million, in 2014, 2015, 2016 year
respectively. The number reached finally to 28 million and 32 million in 2017 and 2018
respectively. Majority international tourists come from North America and UK (Smith, 2018).
