INTRODUCTION Health and safety are important parameters of human life as they are responsible forsmooth functioning of an individual. This assignment will cover different aspects of Fleet woodHall care home. One of the most important factor of health care come is the implementation ofHealth and Safety at Work Act (Goetsch, 2010). This act was established in 1974. Under this act,different duties and responsibilities are assigned to employers, employees, contractors, suppliersof goods and substances for use at work. This act was enacted in order to secure health, welfareand safety and protect employees and other workers working in an organisation. It helps inidentifying potential risks within workplace and working on ways in which the risk can beminimised or eradicated. MAIN BODY2.2 Impact of one policy on the customers and work of practitioners.Recruitment and selection policy: Fleet wood Hall care home is having good recruitmentprocedures but requires talented candidates which can provide better services to patients.Because of this, managers have to perform external recruitment which can hire talented andhighly skilled candidates which have desired skills and knowledge in health and safety field. Advantage of this policy is that, it will provide fresh talents and ideas to care home andthey can develop better care plans which will be beneficial for patients.Disadvantage can be that, Fleet wood Hall care home have issues with employeeappraisal and staff training was also not up to the mark. So, new candidates might not join thecare home due to lack of these things (Barba and et al., 2015). It is responsibility of a manager todevelop better appraisal systems that can attract new candidates and also retain previousemployees. They can also provide them with necessary health and safety training which canenhance their knowledge regarding this field. This will ultimately improve their knowledge areaand also improve the service providing by them.2.4 Impact of Non-compliance health and safety legislationNon-compliance with health and safety legislations refers to certain rules and regulations,guidelines and more that are not followed by a company. These legislations are enacted byHealth & Safety Act 2008 that amends a firm to follow set rules and drive their business as permanner.
