INTRODUCTION
Introduction to business concerned with study of business administration of
organisation,which aids to analyses the micro and macro factor of organisation which affect
environment of business firm ( Aral, 2013) .An organisation uses various types approaches of
leadership in order to enhance performance of employees. It is also concern on to tackle various
type of issues and challenges which are raised in organisation. The manager of organisation
apply various approaches to resolve issues and challenges of organisation.
DHL is a German logistic company which provide the service to
international courier, parcel, and express mail. Company faces various issues and challenges in
delivering the different post to different place. Company apply different strategy to inculcate
with different issues and challenges to stand before their rival in market.
TASK
1) Pestle Framework (Macro-environmental Analysis)
Micro and macro factor of affects performance of organisation, micro factor are
internal element of which affect performance of organisation (Bridge, and O'Neill,2012 ). Macro
factor are external element which are outside of organisation. DHL basically faces various
issues and challenges from macro factors. So DHL should apply approach of PESTLES
analysis which aids to control the macro factor. PESTEL analysis is the tools which used by
marketer to monitor macro environmental factors which impact on organisation. PESTEL
concerned about
Political factor:This factor includes about policy of government,various tax policy which
is implemented by government. DHL should apply their business strategy as per the current
policy of the government(Brondsted, 2012). These various political factor affect the future
perspective of organisation.
Economical factor: This is most significant factor which affect organisation that business
going toward profit or not. Economic factor concerned with economic growth, interest rates,.
Inflation etc.
Social factor: These factor involve with population, age distribution, health,
consciousness. DHL should apply this strategy to work on about the section of vehicle used for
delivering parcel as per the area. The social factor play an important role to provide services as

per the requirement of of population. If logistic company provide good services to the people
then people prefer that company to avail further services. It leads to enhance the perception to
the company which leads to maximise the productivity of the company
Technological factor: DHL should implement advance technique to receive orders from
the client from different locality. Implement innovative way of providing service. New of
distribution of parcels and products(De George, 2011). For enhancing the effectiveness of the
industry and improve in the performance of company it is essential to use the latest technology in
the industries. It aids to enhance the performance of organisation
Environmental factor: Means of transports for the postal company is vital component of
firm, DHL business effected by emission of carbon monoxide from vehicles. UK release order
to lessen the emission of these vehicles. So DHL have to focus on other means of transport.
` Legal factor : DHL inculcate with the various legal issues like taxes, rules authorise
document of vehicles etc. organisation should follow the rules and regulation which is issues by
the government for proper transportation of vehicle. Sometimes proper documentation of vehicle
not fulfil by company then it is ceased by the government personal ad impose heavy fine on that
vehicle this leads to great loss for company. So it is necessary to ensure about the document of
the vehicle which are used for transportation of parcel aids to provide better service to their
customer without any delay.
2) Porter's force analysis ( Micro environmental analysis)
Micro factor of the organisation are the internal element of company which are concerned
about the structure of organisation, work environment, supply chain management system etc.
Micro factors plays an important role to enhance the performance of DHL company(Eriksson,
and Kovalainen, 2015). In order to analyses the micro factor of company it uses Porter five
framework to attract different stakeholder which are as follows: Potential of new entrants into company: Logistic company have threats of entrance of
new rival which affect the performance of business. There are different stake holder
which are concerned with logistic management they give capital to DHL industries. Due
low performance of the company stakeholder do not want to invest any more. This led to
create a problem of capital of investment of company. Threats of Substitute products and services : DHL provides various types of service to
their customer at different range of price to the customers. Threats to this substitute is

very low. Threats concerned about the extra cost imposed by company on parcels. This
enhance the profit of company because customer do not have any other option to deliver
or receive parcels(Humphreys,2012). It company do not provide services as per the
requirement of customer then it is leads to affect the profitability of the company because
customer tends to persuade from DHL tom other rival company. Power of supplier : There is less bargaining in logistic company. DHL takes help of
different auto mobiles like trucks, forklift, cranes to lift the parcels. There is large number
of supplier found in the market. It aids to enhance the performance of company.
Power of Buyers: In present scenario customer want their products as quickly as
possible. DHL implements various innovative method deliver the parcel faster than other
logistic company. So DHL give service to customer at low price in order to maximise
level of profits. These steps are used by DHL to give better service to their customer also
distribute profit to their stakeholder.
3) Internal analysis: Resource, Capabilities, and core competencies
In order to enhance the skills and knowledge of the working employee in the
organisation which leads to enhance the performance of organisation. The task can be
accomplished by employee stipulated time frame. Various organisation uses various models in
order to enhance capability of employee and growth of organisation. DHL uses McKinsey 7s
model to enhance the proper uses of different resources, to enhance the skills and knowledge of
working employees(Johnson, 2016 ) . It concerned with 7-S framework for the development of
organisation. This tool was developed in 1980 by McKinsey consultant Tom Peter, Robert
waterman, and Julien Philips with the help from Richard Pascal and Anthony G. Athos.
This model was used by various practitioners. This model
is also used by the DHL organisation to enhance the performance of organisation's performances.
The 7 s of this model are as follows Structure, Strategy, Skills, Staff, Style, Systems, and shared
values these “S” aids to increase the effectiveness of the organisation. The description of these
'S” are as follows:
Structure : Organisation should possess appropriate structure according as per the requirement
of business. This aids to create a healthy environment of organisation which increase the
productivity of organisation(.Serfozo,2012).

Strategy: Organisation should implement different strategy to enhance the level of profitability
of the products. In order to attain goals and objectives of organisation innovative strategy should
be implemented by DHL organisation.
Skills: Organisation should organise various training session which help to improve working
capability of worker which aids to enhance performance of workers. DHL should organise
innovative training programme in order to attain the effectiveness in of process of
employee(Stoer,and Bulirsch, 2013 ).
Staff: Organisation should appoint appropriate number of staff as per the requirement of
organisation. Appointment of staff should be done as per the requirement of work load. If order
are numerous then organisation should outsource the employee at low cost to complete the
order in stipulated time frame.
Style: The manger of DHL should implement some innovative style to perform the assigned task
that aids to develop the performing style of business firms.
Shared value: various changes, norms and standard aids to guide the employee behaviour
working in the organisation.
These are 7 s help to put foundation of every organisation so DHL should follow these
model for growth and expansion of organisation.
4) Application of Swot framework to identify the micro and macro factor
DHL is the most famous company in the field of logistic and transport in order to deliver
various type document, parcels, and other cargo goods to item loyal clients. It is determine as the
best service provider in the world. It provide service in tree segment like local segment, domestic
segment,and at national level. Organisation also focus to raise of various types of issues in
organisation as well as complain raised from customer sides. It determine all micro factor of
organisation and macro factor of the organisation which aids to enhance the work performance of
organisation. For improvement ad effectiveness of organisation,DHL implement various types
of approaches(Tomczak, Reinecke, and Kuss, 2018). DHL perform Swot analysis for
identification of weakness, strength,various threats of the companies in order to fulfil the desire
of customers and maximise the profit level. There are different steps of SWOT are given below: Strength: It is most essential factor of organisation. It aid to identify expansion and
growth of business of the organisation. It direct in right way to enhance the productivity
of the organisation. The strength of DHL is to provide services to various country and

different territory around the world. It large number of employees on different post. As
company use to identify various element of micro factor and also element of macro
factor. As company is financially strong it focus on to procurement of government.
Organisation have different clients in all over world. DHL rapidly expand its service in
various country. Weakness: This is main factor which organisation should give focus on weakness of
organisation it lead to enhance performance of organisation and also brings
effectiveness in working process inside organisation. DHL faces strong rival such as
cargo ships which are operated by government, organisation should invest capital for
advertisement and promotion of organisation. Regarding this in different country and
territory DHL faces economic disaster which led to reduce the level of profits of
company. Opportunity: It is concerned with the development of organisation. It means
organisation should create opportunity to enhance the business in different areas. It also
leads to enhance profitability of organisation which leads to give success for
organisation. DHL should grab this opportunity in order to expand their business and
attain the goals and business of the organisation. Organisation should tie up with
different business and corporate agencies. It put its effort in the financial market in order
to maximise profit of organisation(Vlot, and Gunnink, 2011). It can enhance working
procedure of company.
Threats: Every organisation should identify their threats which are responsible for
reducing performance of organisation. There are various like threats of competitor,
threats of producing similar products in market place. DHL should identifies threats as
presence of its rival e – commerce organisation. This is biggest threats of business.
Organisation also affected from natural calamities. Scarcity of funds to organisation
which led to financial crises in organisation is the biggest threats for
organisation(.Wilson, 2014). Use of electronic mails instead of traditional mails are also
biggest threats for organisation. These are various micro and micro factor of organisation
which are use to analysis position of organisation in market. Threats of changing
technology leads to reduce the working performance of organisation.
