Organizational structure is that kind of structure which defines about those activities like
allocation, coordination, and supervision which helps in achieving of aims and objectives that
has been set by an organization like M&S with the help of standard operating procedures.
Define management and discuss management theories
Management is that part of organization which helps in making an organization attain
profit and revenue generation. M&S is require to use scientific management theory is important
because its approach to management is found in almost every industrial business operation
across the world. Its influence is also felt in general business practices such planning, process
design, quality control, cost accounting, and ergonomics (Cameron and Rössler, 2018).
Identify different types of organisational structure and outline the disadvantages and advantages
Hierarchical org structure.
Advantage: Clear Line of Authority
This structure helps on establishing of clear authority for working of various departments.
Managers of M&S have authority or power to make allocation of resources, giving rewards and
punishing employees. It makes discipline and order to be maintained.
Disadvantage: Isolation and Siloed Thinking
The same grouping that allows members of departments to work well together also iso-
lates them from other sections of a company, reducing interdepartmental cooperation and com-
munication. Departments can become indifferent to the concerns of other areas and develop tun-
nel vision. When acute, departments may put their own agendas ahead of company goals
