Recommendations
As mentioned in the last section about performance at Qantas Airways Limited, it is now
recommended to other companies operating in the same sector to find innovative ways that help
in attracting as well as retaining older employees. Retention of experienced and older
employees is important than recruiting of new candidates. It is because training cost already
had been incurred on the older employees, so retaining them will help the company to get
access to information than recruiting new employees for the same. Induction program and
training sessions need to given to new employees that it is a costly affair. Retention proves that
the company has low attrition rate and employees enjoys working for the place and they are not
leaving the job. Strategies such as transparent communication and regular feedback will help
the older employees motivated and valued when their suggestions are taken into account by the
companies. Transparent communication is a tool that should be used by the companies where
employees have the freedom or right to share their opinions, feedback, suggestions and
grievances. The managers even need to make sure that there is two way communication and
no barrier present between upper level management to lower level management. The
management even needs to consider any positive or innovative plan suggested by the
employees that will make them content and happy that they are being valued in the company.
Monetary and non-monetary rewards, both plays important role that can motivate employees
largely.
