Leadership is based on the process which always influence people
organizational success. it is helping to increase efforts of others towards goal
and achievement. A great leader always know how to motivate or inspire better
than anyone else. It is one of main function as possible for manager within
organization. Manager always attempt to analyse leadership tend to fail because
of misconceives their own tasks. The documentation will discuss about
different leadership theories, approaches and also identifying the
characteristics, role of leader. Furthermore, it will describe that how developing
leadership skill which help for motivating other people in the organization.

THEORIES OF LEADERSHIP
Born/trait leadership: this theory is mainly used to predict the effective
leadership and generally identified the characteristics, which compared to
potential leaders and its current leading capabilities (Shields and Hesbol, 2020).
At workplace, Manager can use this leadership theory to identify the suitable
characteristics from different perspectives. In order to focus on the attributes of
staff member in term of education, qualification, background knowledge.
Behavioural leadership: In this theory, it is mainly focused on the specific
behaviour, actions of leaders rather than its current characteristics and traits
(Shields and Hesbol, 2020). This theory has suggested that effective leadership
for learning new things. Furthermore, technical skills refer to leader’s
knowledge of process or method. It always support for running the business in

CHARACTERISTICS OF LEADER
Confidence: an effective leader has become confident towards their own
decision and ensure that other people follow the commands (Lemoine, Hartnell
and Leroy, 2019). Generally, it plays important role in enterprise to handle both
employee performance and efficiency in proper manner.
Commitment and Passion: It is also another important characteristic, when
always committed towards their business operation and function. It will help
leader to gain more respect of manager and establish the good relationship. An
effective leader always committed towards organizational goal and objective.
Good communicator: it is an essential characteristic in term of employee
engagement and exchange information. A good leader have effective
communication skill to interact with other staff member. In order to inspire or
motivate towards organizational objective.
DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Practice discipline: A good leader need to require discipline so that they can
easily inspire other. In the organization, manager can judge the person on the
basis of their capacity and how lead by amount of discipline (Lemoine, Hartnell
and Leroy, 2019).
Developing situational awareness: A good leader is that when they can anticipate
the specific problem before they occur. It is most valuable skill to have handling
complex project within specific deadline. In this way, it is important for
developing self-awareness regarding business complex situation or condition.

or guide other participate who will have a common goal. Leader that inspire to
get specific feedback from individual person and ensure that each one can
improve own capabilities.
MANAGING AND LEADING PEOPLE
TYPES OF LEADERSHIP APPROACHES
Autocratic leadership: In this leadership style, manager makes an effective
decision without taking input from other, who always report themselves. Staff
members are not consulted or considered prior to give direction.
Democratic Leadership: in this leadership, each and every group members are
able to participate in the decision-making process. A democratic leader that
emphasis to maintain the equality among staff members. Moreover, it always
encouraging towards discussion and implement innovative idea.
Transformational Leadership: Like charismatic leader, it should adopt the
transformational leadership that always support for inspiring other people
(Lemoine, Hartnell and Leroy, 2019). Leader initiates towards transformation in
term of employee performance improvement during various task executions.
Within enterprise, it has increased the demand of transformational leadership
demand for increasing the productivity as well as profitability in marketplace

From above discussion, it has concluded that Leadership is considered as
important aspects for business growth and development. It can provide the
motivation or inspiration of staff members towards their goal and achievement.
Therefore, every manager should use leadership style to influence people in
order to increase efforts of others towards objective. Furthermore, it has
summarised about the different leadership theories, approaches and also
identifying the characteristics, role of leader. However, it is helping to develop
leadership skill which support for motivating people in the workplace.
