INTRODUCTIONBritish Telecom is an international telecommunication holding company and isheadquartered in London. It is the largest services provider in mobile, broadband and fixed-lineservices in UK and operates in more than 180 countries(Calabrese, and et. al., 2018). BT was thefirst telecom company in Britain which was formed in 1980 and was privatise in year 1984 afterbeing independent from Post Office in year 1981. It deals in number of products like Fixed-line telephony, Mobile telephony, Broadband internet, Fibre optic communication, Digitaltelevision, IT and network services, Home security, Telecommunication equipments, Supplychain managements. Its mission is to provide quality services and great experience to customers,BT is a customer centric business that work toward creating values among shareholders anddelivering excellent and continuous improving services. Life is becoming more difficult due to teconvergence of technologies and various changes are taking place faster so, BT's vision is tomake complexity transparent by making things easier so that each individual, organisation andbusiness to realise their potential through the usage of communications.MAIN BODY British Telecom is the oldest and first telecommunication company of Britain which wasestablished in year 1846. It offer its services globally in areas such as mobile, broadband, fixedphone, fibre etc. and has more than 100,000 employees around UK(Charter, M 2017). There arenumber of challenges faced by BT in its operations such as changing demand of customers,increasing need of high speed network, competitors with same service at relatively low price,rapid changes in technologies etc. It is recommended to British Telecom that before entering intonew market company must analysis its micro and macro environmental forces that may affect theoperations and its functioning. Company must also perform industrial and swot analysis in orderto determine various threats and opportunities that are present in the environment in which itoperates.
