1ISSUES OF QANTAS AIRLINESLiterature reviewBased on the topic and the theories from the chapters of management, it can beconsidered that the company has been lacking in the Global competition due to several internalfactors. Certain errors within the company is responsible for its degrading quality and servicealong with it position in the run. Based on the chapters of management, managers can be gooddecision makers and leaders, by understanding and analyzing a situation, thus taking up decisionto adopt changes. However, Qantas fails in the same, due to including ineffectiveness of theleadership style, disagreement to accept and manage changes are the probabilities of the fall. Itcan be equally held responsible for the lack of strategic planning and management within thecompany. Based on the management of the strategies, it is influential to understand thesignificance of understanding the relationship between an organization and the globalenvironment. Nonetheless, the faulty managerial controls and the operations is contributing tothe continual losses incurred by the company due to loss of customers. Company has beenwithdrawing itself from the other countries due to the losses incurred along with the threats fromthe other aircraft carriers due to the lack of strategies in its own business model. Inefficiency inthe motivation of the employees and the lack of communication along with clearly definedcompany goals can be held equally responsible. So it can be concluded that based on the theoriesof strategic management and planning as well as the role of the managers as the decision maker,they can contribute equally in the good and bad decision makings (Goodwin and Wright 2014).With the help of the strategic management and Porter three strategic principles the company canunderstand the necessary changes that needs to be incorporated along with a clear understandingof the company goals and objectives as well as critical analysis of the company’s external andinternal environment analysis (Tanwar 2013).
