of business unit. It is the responsibility of the team members to treat employees well and make
them feel happy so that they will become loyal towards the brand (Goleman, 2017). Present
study is based on Virgin Atlantic which is planning to reinvent the airline industry. Company is
popular for providing quality services to staff members and consumers. Current report will
discuss the leadership style and management practices of the business unit. Furthermore, it will
explain the process of effective team building and benefit of reward system at workplace.

Leadership style
Leaders are the persons those who lead people in the workplace. They always work hard
to manage people well and motivating them so that they perform their work in the workplace for
longer duration (Strom, Sears and Kelly, 2014). There are various kinds of leadership styles:
Autocratic leadership
It is the type of method in which leaders do not involve employees in decision making
process. Workers are forced to follow rules and regulations strictly. Leaders make final decision
and they instruct others to work accordingly. Though autocratic leaders motivate people by
giving rewards and recognition (Arnold and et.al, 2015). This motivate them but less
empowerment many times create negatively in the business unit.
Democratic leadership style
It is another type of leadership style in which entity involve people in decision making
process and empower them to share their views with the management. Company take their
feedback and implement their innovative ideas so that performance of the entity can be
improved. Leaders of Virgin Atlantic apply democratic leadership style where leaders treat all

fulfil their requirements. Company behave responsive towards its workers that is why people are
