Introduction
The following paper demonstrates the importance of emotional intelligence in organisation of
a store manager and the importance of cultural awareness. The paper also depicts the
implementation of financial approach and performance management process.
Respond to emotional intelligence case study
Question1
The best way to respond to the Store’s Manager’s behaviour and the executing
modelling positive leadership behaviour.
According to the case study as the operation manager the optimal way to respond or
react to the Store’s Manager’s behaviour would be to have a personal conversation by
planning a meeting with the her. During the personal meeting, it will be my responsibility to
make her aware of the situation she created and how her reaction has worsened the current
situation because of her bad, negative and disrespectful attitude towards the managers. In
response to sculpt her positive leadership behaviour, I will recommend her to follow and
learn motivational leadership processwith the other managers. In the above approach of
motivational behaviour, the participative leadership approach is considered to be most
effective and supportive for this kind of leadership model she is showing and to increase their
innovative ideas for increasing the current sales of the business. The participative type of
leadership and with inspirational and motivational aspects would help to create a supportive
and positive ambience in the workplace.
The principle of emotional intelligence that the Store Manager failed to demonstrate.

Emotional intelligence is described as an behavioural attribute which is executed by
individuals for showing personal emotions towards other as well as the ability to understand
others emotions by analysing the different of behaviour and feelings. The principle of
emotional intelligence which was not demonstrated by the in the above case of Store
Manager is that she had shown very poor emotional awareness which was beyond ethics as
well about the feelings of lower level staffs and manager as well. The another emotional
intelligence principle that she failed to show was of good leadership practices. Her behaviour
did not involve good leadership quality that would help to engage good cordial relationship
between the employees and managers. In the following ways, Store Manager did not show
any kind of emotional intelligence in her behaviour.
The possible ways the Store Manager should have acted and communicated
In the given case study, the Store Manager should have responded and acted in a good
way. She must have responded in this way, she should have done a meeting in which this
type of words should have used: It has been observed that the sale percentage is declining
drastically and hence it is main problem for the organization, therefore it is time to work in
team. This type of behaviour would show motivation and all the manager would have felt
motivated to work rather than becoming disappointed. For further approach she should have
proposed a provision for incentive, so that it act as a motivation to increase the sales target.
Effective communication is basic key skill for manager therefore it is highly necessary that
the manager must have effective communication skills to run an organisation.
