Leadership concept is an important function that helps to improve the efficiency of the
team members as well as to realize vision, mission and objectives of the firm. J &J Furnishings
Ltd. was founded in year 1965 by Jack and Jessica in Sydney, Australia. It deals in building and
selling home furniture Ramazani & Jergeas (2015).. The Report will outline the leadership style
of the leader that helps to manage project team during implementation of change in the context
of organization. Further, it will describe tools and procedure that can be used by project manager
to influence group members, various type of powers as described in Raven and steps that project
manager should take for alleviating the challenges that may be faced by project team etc.

Leadership style for managing project team.
Leadership style-
It refers to the approach adopted by the leader of the firm for providing direction to team
members, to implement the proposed plans and to influence the employees for performing better.
The concept of leadership plays an important role in both the type of environment that is internal
and external environment. Internal environment consist of attitude, culture, behaviour of
individuals etc. Environment outside the business consist of competitors, customers etc.
Nowadays, performing the business in global environment has become more complex.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of top management and leader of the firm to lead the employees
that plays a major role in achieving goals of the firm Zigarmi, Roberts & Alan Randolph (2015).
There are various types of leadership styles that Project Manager of an organization can
adopt such as democratic, autocratic, laissez-faire etc. But other than these, one of the best
leadership style that will help Project Manager of J &J Furnishings during the project of product
line expansion and upgrading billing software is describes below-
Transformational leadership style:
It refers to a leadership style in which leader the firm focuses on achieving the goals of
learning and fulfilling the needs of team members. This leadership style also helps to modify the
quality of products or services by focusing on training and personal development of the
employees. Project Manager of J &J Furnishings should adopt transformational leadership style
over other types of leadership styles such as autocratic, democratic etc. that will help to move the
firm forward with the help of team members.
