INTRODUCTION
 Leadership is defined as the ability of an individual to influence or guide members of an
organization for achieving a goal. A leader knows how to motivate the employees by giving
them innovative ideas and also helps them in understanding the system.
 The report will include the characteristics for both autocratic and democratic leadership styles
and how these leadership styles are beneficial for any organization and that will be explained by
the help of an academic leadership model. The report will also elaborate the self-appraisal by
using these leadership styles

Effective leadership also have a great impact on the performance, employee
retention and morale. A great leader is the one who have empathy towards the other
individual, one should know to connect in a way lets that person know you
understand what it means to be in their situation. Having a good leader in an
organization leads to the overall productivity and performance, customer
satisfaction and large investments. Therefore it is good to have a higher authority
to report to.
 Autocratic leadership styles-In this type of leadership style an individual is
having control over all the decisions and have little input from group members.
Autocratic leaders makes choices which is based on their ideas and judgments
and rarely accept the advice from other people.

 Democratic leadership styles-Democratic leadership style
is the process in which every single individual is responsible
or have equal participation in the decision making process.
The word democracy means “anything which rune by the
help of people” and this word works well in running any
organization as well. There are many characteristics of using
the democratic leadership style while working in the
organization like this style helps in solving the complex issues
within the organization, this style can be used by any
individual in any type of industry, the democratic leaders
have a more set of ideas and concepts which can be applied
for running the organization or team in an more effective
manner, it enhances honesty amongst the employees and
also help in improving the team knowledge(Kilicoglu, 2018).

 For making a successful organization it is very important to have leadership
qualities in the employees.it is the process of influencing the employees to do
the work in a more effective manner and also doing the work by willingness.
The leadership in the organization is essential for achieving the three
challenges. The first challenge is to provide a shared vision of where the
organization is heading and also the mission of the organization (Al Khajeh,
2018).
 The second challenge is to set the aim or objectives in which the leaders try to
convert the strategic vision and directional course into specific performance for
getting success in the organization and the third challenge is to make a strategy
for that will help in determining that how the objective will be achieved.

A strong and clear vision for the future have to build by the democratic leaders in
order to achieve success and growth in the organization.by inviting the
contributors in the work and facilitating the team work one can build a strong
foundation for the vision of the organization. This can be further understood by
understanding the concept of academic leadership model. The academic
leadership model has been provided by the senior administrative leader by
focusing on creating values for the organization.it is a type of leadership that
includes such roles like creating mission and vision which is based on the
research data for the organization.in the same way the autocratic and democratic
both the leadership style are very beneficial for increasing the productivity

 For the self-appraisal the most effective leadership style that can be applied in the professional as well as personal life
is to choose the democratic leadership style.it has been observed that post COVID- 19 pandemic situation the issue of
work from home is rising in very rapid manner and for this the leaders and managers have to manage the team over
the con calls and for the effective team management process it is very essential for the leaders to adopt some
leadership style for getting a team which dedicated and also motivated. Many organizations follow the democratic
leadership styles in the form of:
 Employee engagement surveys
 360 feedback is a key element for keeping the employees engaged and motivated at the workplace. The 360 degree
feedback is growing in popularity and it gives a view of employee performance.it have many benefits like
strengthening, accountability and collaboration among the team members.
 Other forums for the employees to share their ideas, interests and concerns such as debriefs, check-ins or idea pitches.

There are many examples of the leaders who used to adopt the democratic
leadership style in their professional personal life(İnce, 2018).one of the
example is the former CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi who have demonstrated
that how she valued the team members by writing personalized letter to the
parents of her team members.in the same way the democratic leader helps in
encouraging the individuals for raising their voice and share their opinions and
ideas for the betterment of their performance and by this the team will be able to
come up with new and innovative ideas and provide creative solution to the
problems.

CONCLUSION
Leadership is the key to success and it has been understood that for running any business it is very
important for the employees to understand the concept of different leadership styles for making the
work more effective. Leadership is the ability to direct a group of team for achieving a common goal.
Leadership brings enthusiasm and motivation in the team members and motivated them for meeting
their objectives. The report also concluded the introduction of leadership and how this is beneficial in
the workplace. Also the autocratic and democratic styles have been discussed in the model by the help
of academic learning model. The report also elaborated on which leadership style should be required
for the self-appraisal and how these leadership style is beneficial for the organization. Similarly
leadership helps in making strategies and planning for achieving the goals in a more efficient manner.
